  1. What did I REALLY learn??... That tho we are all different people from all over the country who may never meet, one mans life experience is not unlike others, and that there is more in our lives that we may have in common than just fishing. Thanks Slone Mike
  2. Try a swimmimg stick bait of your choice...Senko, Sluggo, Fluke, Cut R etc. Or a creature bait of your choice...Rage Craw, Brush Hog, Rage Bug etc. You can use all of them in, through and around anything you got. Mike
  3. Bass Turd, My brother sounds like your son. Unfortunately my family doesn't have the resources to get him the professional help like you do..All we have is the patience, Love and compassion like you. We circled the wagons and as one unit made it clear that when he's ready to save his life our lives will be worth living again. We're still waiting. It's not much but you're not alone brother, I pray for you all. Mike
  4. I once mooned a full auditorium at a 50's and 60's concert. As security was running up the stairs to the stage the crowd demanded an encore...twice Mike
  5. Looks good! Mike
  6. I felt the same way. Took me a long time to finally pull the trigger but glad I did. They're not cheap either, but I found that the shape and the action together are absolute killer anytime they're feeding on shad. Different water color, conditions, wind, it really doesn't matter. This is one hard bait that I don't have to think about choosing when they're chasing. There's just something about that double joint and odd shape. Mike
  7. I use a 12# Yo Zuri for both presitations. Being on a budget this line would be ideal for you. It is cheap and much stronger than advertised. It does stretch a bit, but no more than some flouro's and less than most mono's. I use Sniper for all bottom contact presentation's. Imho, useing it for moving baits is really not warranted. Mike
  8. I have a ghost Sebile Magic Swimmer that I'd go swimming for if I ever lost it. Mike

  13. Mother Nature...You gotta Love her!! Mike
  14. A female will drop and run, another will drop and hang out. Totally depends on conditions and thier state of mind I guess, nobody knows for sure. I will target bedding bass if the situation allows...And yes in a tournament situation I will stay on it for an hour if need be. I've seen them drop and not move, others will leave, some will go and hide nearby and yet others will stay close but in the open. Reminds me of a mother dropping her kids off at a play ground but hanging around to keep an eye on them. I've use many different colors and style of baits but my go to down here is a white bb cricket. Mike
  15. Don't do it..IMHO, A well tied knot shouldn't need it. Mike
  16. See your other post... Mike
  17. Where are you going?? It's a big state and it will make a difference! If you're gonna fish big water start with frogs, swim baits, plastics and spinnerbaits. If small local waters...Frogs and plastic Mike
  18. I've seen a few beds in So. Sarasota and Charlotte County for weeks now. The pre spawn girls are getting a little jumpy down here. The list of baits soflabasser listed is a good start. Waters will be starting to warm back up, as it will be in the low 80's down here all week. Good Luck Mike
  19. You got some good advise here, the only thing I can add is even tho a frog bite can last all day in some waters, in your case get there early...I mean just before the sun comes up..Hopefully you're just missing the bite. Mike

  23. The only hook I snell is a Trokar TK 130 which I use for flipping in heavy cover or for punching. The hook eye is also as you describe but I don't have that problem. Maybe the design of the Octopus hook lends itself to the problem you're having or it could be a Gammy production run problem. Mike
