  1. I've seen that style before and always walked away thinking that the pin, even with being barbed, wouldn't hold in the nose as well as a twist lock would. Do you have that problem with those at all? Mike

Thanks Prime. As I've said here many times before the Scum is one of the most under rated, little talked about frogs on here. The more popular and marketed frogs get the most play and some rightfully deserve it. I've used most "named brands" over the years but none beats the Scum in thier price range. You don't have to pull the hooks, trim the legs to make it walk better and nothing is softer.

  5. Skinny Dippers and/or a Big EZ depending on what kind of action they want. I rig both on the Owner Screw Lock with centering pin. Mike

The absolute best frog I've ever used is the Capt Ken's Clone Frog. The kicking action of the legs, combined with the colors, hooks and durability make this stand out above the rest IMHO. They're not cheap by any means tho. As an all around quality frog I use the little ol Scum. Mike
  7. I'm not Bruce but his point is exactly what I do also..When I pull up on an area with a light to a fairly heavy chop I start with a spinnerbait also. But I'll usually switch to a spinning setup as opposed to a BC especially if I have to throw into the wind to reach my target area. The chop on the water makes it harder for the fish to see..The turning blades will deflect light and and draw them in. Another suggestion is to throw a lipless crank on windy days also. If the spinnerbait fails after a while the lipless (I use the red eye shad exclusively) can be very effective useing a side arm roll cast when facing into it. Good Luck and Welcome Mike

  12. Don't know what kind of water you normally flip in but 50# would concern me a little If you were flipping into heavy matted areas, for that it's 65# min. I have friends who won't go below 80# but that's them, I'm me and you're you. IMHO Let your water be your guide. ..Heavy, thick matted weeds and debri...65# min / scattered heavy vegetation with pockets of open water...50# min / submerged emergent grass...30# min. Spinning reel 20# max. Mike

  18. It will be interesting to see what happens this weekend on the Big O. I have a tournament on the South end on Saturday and another on the North end on Sunday. With all the back pumping going on, it's gonna be tough finding any clear water. Gonna just have to hit the matt's I guess. We'll see Mike

I don't put them back in with the new and unused. I always take them off the hook tho and put in a separate pouch in my bag and use them up that way, if they're salvageable of course. Mike
