Zoom Horny Toad
Ribbit's are a top water machine! I use the dual hook setup and they work great. Another option for throwing a top water buzz frog is the RI Trixie Shark. A lot smaller but just as deadly, especially if retrieved just under the water. OP. . check the cut in the tails of the pack you got. If they are not cut exactly the same it will cause what you're experiencing. Mike

What kind of boats?
Some won't allow a boat with tiller either. It's best if you just check the club/tournament rules to see what's allowed or not. If you have any doubts contact the tounament director and ask him. Mike

Bullet weights
As others have said if you don't want tungsten, brass is an option..But if you're intent on useing steel (if you can find them) and want to paint them, use finger nail polish with a tiny amount of paint hardener mixed in to help prevent chipping....It works Mike

Best terminal tackle storage ideas
Super glue the dividers in, on the bottom and in the side grooves. Also glue a piece of non skid shelve liner on the underside of the lid. You'll be able to turn it over and shake and nothing will move. Mike

What's your go to set up when you need a kicker fish?
I look for an isolated hydrilla matt and pick it apart with a june bug RI Sweet Beaver with a contrasting punch skirt with the appropriate weight size on an 7' Allstar ASR rod with a Curado E spooled with 60lb braid. Mike

Loomis green NRX Discontinued?
I was thinking about buying either a Loomis MBR 844C GLX or the comparible NRX. To those of you who know about these rods would you run and get the NRX or just stick to the GLX line again. I have a 843C and really like but I'm wanting to go get another for bottom contact presentation's. The 843C is a little to soft for me. I was gonna start a separate thread but thought Id just ask on this one Thanks Mike

Moving to Florida
Ron, I live in between both areas you're interested in and have for the past 37 yrs. Punta Gorda and North Port are different in many ways...Housing and land costs, water access, shopping, dining etc but only 20 miles apart end to end. There are many waters here to bass fish in..Lakes, canals, river, creeks, ponds etc. Plus you're less than 2 hours from Okeechobee! Less than 3 from Istokpoga, Southern end of the Kissimmee chain, and a dozen or so lakes in the so central part of the state. This area is more geared to salt water fishing being so close to the Gulf of Mexico, Peace River, Myakka River, Charlotte Harbor and of course "The Tarpon Capitol of the World ". There are parts of Punta Gorda that have direct access to the gulf whereas No Port is more inland but still only 10-15 miles away. The local bass fishing around here is great! There are so many places to go that I think you will be pleasantly surprised to say the least, more so in the No Port/Port Charlotte are tho. When you get down here either when you move or come to visit the area let me know and I'll be happy to show you around. Also, if you or your family are curious about, or need local info of any kind let me know, I'd be happy to help you out. Mike
