  2. Chicago Cardinals, Ny Giants, Minneapolis Lakers, Dodgers...... Mike
  3. Yes, they and the Bears are the only charter members of the NFL still in existence. They left Chicago in '59. I have uncles who are still pi**ed off about it!
  4. Do you guy's think for one second this would happen in...Chicago?, Washington?, Pittsburgh? Or even that team from Wisconsin? Not a chance. Those people would take a flame thrower to that stadium. Why did this happen? St.Louis couldn't or wouldn't guarantee the money the owner wanted. And with no guarantee he knows that with a fan base 4-5 times the size he will get what he deems he needs without one. He doesn't personally need the money, he's married to a Walton for crying out loud! So was it really about the money?? No, in my opinion it is all about exposure. .The NFL brass just couldn't take it anymore not having a franchise in the 2nd largest market. That's been an open sore for them since the Raiders left. So now they found the right combination of factors and now LA gets another one..Yeah I know the Rams started in LA, So what? There's no loyalty from the team to a fan base or to a city for that matter, no matter what they say. What about the guy who sells the popcorn? or takes the tickets? What about them? The Rams have had 4 winning seasons since 1990!! And those people sitill showed up and supported that team. Nobody cares..Nobody cares. And No I am not a St Louis fan, I'm a Bear fan..Born and bred Ok rant over Mike
  5. This thread should be required reading for anyone new to jig fishing...Just my opinion Mike

  7. Don't like slower geared reels, never have. When I hook a fish I want to get him to the boat as fast as I can as soon as I can. Playing a fish is hard on me and even harder on the fish to recover as I always either toss them right back or put them in a livewell for release later. Other than working a deep diving crankbait down to its designed depth and helping to keep it pinned, which I can do with a faster reel, I see no advantage. I understand the fun it is to play with a fish before landing. I just don't like to do it. Mike
  8. Excellent reply! Mike
  9. I also fished the BFL on Saturday. My boater fished the lake last week and said he was pulling in 4's and 5's around the shoal and off Bird Island so that's where he wanted to go. We fished the shoal first and both had a limit by 10:30. He used a spook and I a frog then switched to a Cut R. From there we fished just outside of Tin House and culled a few but left after a while and headed to Bird Island. When we got there I counted 37 boats, when we left about 2 hours later there were 67! From there we went back to Kings Bar, caught fish but nothing with any size. Anyway we never really got a kicker that we both needed. like I said we were culling by 10:30 but it was only by ounces. Mike

  20. The "playing field" in any competitive senario should be level for everyone. Unfortunately the ones who feel the need to gain an edge aren't really doing anything wrong as he said. What was interesting is that the one who seeks out and use "inside information" really don't have that much of an advantage "the majority of the guys doing this aren't winning". For that reason alone I don't see anything changing. Mike
  21. 30# Power Pro never had a reason to change. Mike
