  1. I have the X11 deep diver rod that I use for all cranking You're gonna love the X10 which is a little lighter... Anyway, if it was me Id get the Curado I and not look back. Mike
  2. I've never done it and really don't see the need. There are so many color combinations and finishes available that if I wanted to tone down the brightness of a crank Id buy one like that. If I couldn't, I just use some 0000X fine steel wool. (Which I have done) Mike
  3. It may be unnecessary, but some habits are hard to break. I wouldn't recommend back reeling unless you know when, for how long, how fast and when to transition back to land the fish. Mike
  4. Try holding the rod tip higher and reel a little faster..... Mike
  5. Down here in jungle we fish, I've had the best luck with a full size rage craw or paca craw for fippin. If really shallow I'll take the head off and shorten it up. On a swim jig I use a chunk. Mike
  6. Not me. The only thing I do after cleaning the ring and the ends of the pins is to put a very light coating of oil on the ring. Just a small drop on a q tip is all thats needed. Mike
  7. For punching I use the twist lock style hook allmost exclusively now. They both work, just my preference. Mike
  8. Whew! Sure glad you're ok! Hit your knees tonight my friend. Mike
  9. I have 2 baitcasters spooled with Invisx... 15# for plastics and 20# for jigs. Very satisfied. Mike
  10. Anywhere from 0 for charity tournaments, up to 500.00 for club tounament's, and thousands for national circuit's. Mike
  11. Ask yourself what you learned.. Go over it in your mind, every adjustment, every move etc. You did great, the bag weight is important obviously, but no where near as important as what you came away with. Keep it up! Mike
  12. Good for you!! Word of caution....It can get addicting. Mike
  13. Been tying the uni to uni for years useing 20# braid and 12# floro leader. 6 wraps of each. I've had no reason to change. Mike
  14. Any knot you use will become stronger by doubleing the line through the eye. That's one of the reasons the palomar is one of the most popular knot's used for tying braid. IMHO The double SDJ is absolutely the strongest knot you can tie when useing floro. Keeping in mind what has already been said...If any knot is not tied correctly, you need to learn that first. Mike
  15. There ya go... 'Nuff said Mike
  16. If Im sitting in one spot either on shore or in a boat with the poles down, not more than 10-15 min. If in a boat and working a shore line, maybe 30 min. Mike
  17. I've done this also, works the best. Mike
  18. This.... Also, Don't use a paper towel, shirt tail, napkin etc. Those will scratch them for sure. A micro fiber or just a regular soft towel is ideal. And never wipe dry Mike
