  1. Agree Change it up, change everything. You already know you can catch fish useing plastics, next time don't even bring any. Start in a different area completely, and don't move. Throw a frog or other top water in the am. Throw a spinnerbait, or a small crank in mid morning though early afternoon. Toss a jig Point is you know they're there, just not exactly where at diffefent times and depth. If theyll hit something, that something can be anything anywhere You'll get em, just gotta map em. Mike
  2. That's Great! Good for you!! Dreams really do come true. I'll be looking for it. Mike
  3. Drag, twitch etc Trick worm 4" soft stick bait Fuke Craw Lizard Point is, a frog isn't the only bait that will draw huge strike's from a pad, grass or weedy area down here. If you STILL don't get a hit...Change your depth presentation or move on. Mike
  4. Well I'm sitting here writing this by the light of the moon, at the ramp waiting for my boater for a tounament on Okeechobee. I'm told they had 7" of rain here the last 2 days and the water is up 2' since Friday. They should be pulling water but it's flat calm here. Oh well, the hunt is on! Mike
  5. To me there is none better than the trick worm for the shaky head. It just plain works. Mike
  6. RI houdini skinny dipper Shaky Head with a june bug trick worm Mike
  7. For flipping anything in sparse vegetation I use 20# Floro regardless of water clarity. I want the slack line sensitivity that braid doesn't have. If flipping in heavy cover it's 65 braid. Mike
  8. I think he's a spoiled, immature punk who was lucky to have Mike Evans to throw too. And when he gets hit by a 240 lb linebacker going full speed he'll cry like a little girl and won't be heard from again. But that's just me. Mike
  9. 1) 10" worm, skinny dipper and spinnerbait through scattered grass 2) Punching a rage bug or sweet beaver Mike
  10. After almost 6 yrs of planning, hoping and dreaming we finally took delivery of our new motor coach on July 1st!! Since retiring in March we've been planning out trips for the remainder of this year and next. Right now we're sitting in a camp ground just outside of Bourbonnais Ill as we decieded that there was no better way to spend our first roadtrip than to attend the 1st week of the Chicago Bears training camp. Never owning so much as a tent, this rookie was more than a lttle nervous trying to understand the systems but so far so good. Next year we're planning to run the length of Route 66, we'll see. Good to see youre still kicking Mac!!! Mike
  11. If it works for you the way you want it too...Then why not?? But to answer your question, no I don't and don't know of anyone else who rigs that way. Mike
  12. Bought a 7'2" mh/f Crucial spinning rod that I didnt need. Just because of what it was for the money and warranty. Mike
  13. I feel bad now, I don't have THE ONE. Sure there are certain rods I'll take over others but that just depends on what I feel like throwing on any given day, on any given water. Oh Well, the search continues. Mike
  14. Bottom line seems to be if you believe you believe and will use them. If you don't, you don't and Mr Bass ain't saying. To me it comes down to confidence, because of what we've seen ourselves, or what someone else has done. Mike
  15. 9.78 on a june bug Brush Hog Mike
  16. Same here... Mike
  17. Go find youself a Crucial on sale, if value is a priority. To me the Phenix M1 m/xf is a premium rod right up there with the most popular ones on here. Mike
  18. Just got the last Crucial spinning rod at our "local" store. It's a 7' 2" mh/f. Didnt really need a mh spinning rod as I only use them for Shaky and Wacky rigs and always use a med/xf. But for the quality of the rod and the price...I'm sure I'll learn to love it. Mike
  19. Ya know, I thought about useing a stick bait from time to time (Last Sunday) but never did rig one. Gonna try that Saturday. Thanks for bringing that up Mike Mike
  20. Wyn...What is that trailer please? I like that! Mike
  21. Me too...but I got the 7'2" spinning rod for 89.00. Whew!!! Mike
  22. Was RI Sweet Beaver 80% of the time and 20% Baby Brush Hog. Now it's the Rage Bug 50% and the Sweet Beaver 50% (for now) Mike
  23. Headless skinny dipper, or a super fluke for a smaller profile. Mike
  24. Frog, Spooks and a 20 yr old Pop R ( I love that little thing) Mike
