Tried jig w/rage tail baby craw
Thank You Yep I think this set-up matches nicely with this small lake. I dont ever see people fishing with jigs here, mostly worms and cranks, so them getting something different might help me. Here is one I caught today heavier jig 1/2oz but still with the baby craw.

Everybody gets a "big one"
I always seem to get bettered by 2 inches or 2 pounds by other fishermans stories. Guy will ask how am I doing-Ill say got a 15" bass--guy will say he caught a 17 inch one 2hrs ago. Different day different guy will ask --Ill say caught a 4 pound cat--guy will say he caught a 6 pound one yesterday. :

Tried jig w/rage tail baby craw
Never really used a jig much, maybe twice ever. Thought I would have a go at it again. I picked-up a WOODY'S 1/8oz Pro Jig Rattle black/blue and Rage Tail Baby Craw Okeechobee. Used my Pinnacle Deadbolt Classic baitcaster which does well with light lures. I tried several retrieves but the catches were from slowly steadily dragging along the bottom. I missed 2 fish and caught 3 in little over an hour use. One question -- Would this be a good follow to toss out after a SPRO Frog miss? Here are my catches

Medium Liught rod question
I have a St Croix Avid 8' Med Light spinning rod but its only rated for 4-8# line and 1/16-5/16 lures. Much different than what the Med Light Lamiglas you're looking at. That one must have a much stronger backbone given the line rating. I can tell you that with mine Ive hooked-in to some bass that instead of lifting/pulling with the rod I would point the rod straight and just pull back useing the line to get the fish out of grass/weeds cause didnt want to stress the rod too much.

My Sea Eagle 124SMB Inflatable
Here are a couple pics of my inflatable. It works great for the small lakes around my area and one plus to it is that I can STAND ;D This is very helpful on my lower back. I just still need to get a seat for more comfort while motoring.

Best excuse you've given for buying tackle.
Ive not had an issue with the wife its the guys at work. They think Im nuts for spending $200 on a rod and $160 on a reel. Even when I buy lures, Im like hey guys I bought 3 frogs they are like, You're crazy just get crawlers :-? Then I feel the need to explain to them: That pack of smokes you just puffed away could have bought you a nice lure or over a year bought you a nice rod/reel combo. They dont say much after that.

Kayaks vs. canoes: Stability, agility, balance
For sure try one out if you can. I have a not so great back with 2 herniated discs. I wanted a kayak but wasnt for me with the leg position. I lasted about 1/2hr in one then the ole left foot started getting numb. I wound-up bought an inflatable boat for the what I felt was the better sitting position and able to get up move around and cast. Plus it deflates goes in the back of my suv.

Hi. Im just to the west of ya in Rockford.

Starting to get the hang of it
- Must have been beginners luck
This is sound advice and i would like to add ..don't get hung up on one lure or one type of lure in different colors. What makes a great fisherman is being versatile and adapting to what the fish are telling you. Thanks for the advice. These trips though were specifically to try the frog and just get more experience with it. One lake 1/2 of it is a carpet of slop and the other lake 1/3 a blanket of lily-pads. Never tried the areas but seeing all the reports of frog use by others decided to try it myself. - Must have been beginners luck
