  1. TW is selling Lefty Revo STXs for like 140. You could just get one of those in the meantime.
  2. I think TW is selling lefty Revo STX's for 139.
  3. Co-angler in someone's Ranger. He had a 150 HP Johnson outboard. I kept feeling like I was gonna fall out of the boat when he was going 65-70 mph on the water busting through waves.
  4. I'm a noob, but there is one piece of advice I got from this old guy that I thought was cool. He said, "Sometimes you don't want to fish the obvious places or easy to get to places no matter how good they look on paper. Chances are, everyone else thought the same and those places are heavily pressured." Makes sense to me.
  5. It's not just the price of the meds - it's also the price of doctor consults, co-pays, and the process of getting a prescription. If they didn't have medical insurance, it could have probably cost half a month's worth of wages for the pills, assuming 40hr/wk minimum wage.
  6. Colon cancer, from what I understand, can be excruciatingly painful. Seeing as how even the pain meds had to be obtained through illegal means, I doubt they could have afforded actual treatment. If you saw your brother wasting away and in a state of constant excruciating pain, knowing that there was no way he was going to get any better, wouldn't you want to try to at least help him pass away peacefully in any way you know how? I'm not condoning the perp's actions - there were other ways to get pain meds. But at least his heart was in the right place.
  7. Norton IMHO is just a pain in the butt. Hogs a huge chunk of your resources unless you're running an i-5/i-7 rig with over 4GB of 1333+ DDR3. Same can be said of McAfee. Teatimer is what I rely on now.
  8. Costa Del Mars are not that expensive with a little google-fu. http://www.ecrater.com/p/8317119/costa-del-mar-lash-sunglasses-400 http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Product.aspx?baseno=2954C&utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=PaidShopping&utm_term=Costa_Del_Mar_Leatherback_Sunglasses_-_Polarized&utm_campaign=PCGOOGLEBASE2KX&codesProcessed=true http://www.amazon.com/Costa-Del-Mar-Sunglasses-CR-39/dp/B003I79ISM
  9. I don't see why it wouldn't be. I tie my spinnerbaits directly to braid.

He might have been throwing a Timber Tiger... I hear those things are great for deflecting off cover.
  11. I can finally start to fish faster. ;D Those damned bass are always suspended or lazy during the summers here. Probably because it's usually 98+ degrees outside every day. Come fall, I can finally count on those fish getting hungry and actually chasing my lures for a change.
  12. The japanese have been using those X-shaped type worms for quite awhile now...
  13. +1 I like the Strike King Series 3 and 4 in Sexy Shad and Chartreuse Sexy Shad. Series 3 dives 6-8 ft, and Series 4 a tad deeper than that. I too personally don't see the point of paying premium for Lucky Craft cranks when there are much cheaper ones out there that perform just as well. Their jerkbait Pointers on the other hand, I sometimes contemplate getting, considering that most other branded jerkbaits that suspend well cost about the same anyway. ;D I don't work for Yo Zuri, but I really do love some of their stuff. If you ever decide to pay a little more for a good crank, check out their mag minnows and hardcore shad 60s. X-rap in the perch color produces more then any of my pointers. I wouldn't be surprised. Fortunately for me, I just got some pointers for $7 apiece, so I don't feel too much buyer's remorse there. I don't think there's a lot of perch where I fish though.

  15. I mentioned the Yozuri Wack-O earlier. I can walk it just like a spook. The downside of its superior walking ability, though, is its lowered ability to pop. By this I mean that when it pops, the splash is about 1/2 the size of say, a Rebel Pop-R. Still plenty big to attract bass though. TW is having a sale on them for 9.88 or so. Wouldn't hurt to try one.
  16. Another popper that walks well is the Yo-Zuri Wack-O. It doesn't make a very big splash when it pops, but that may actually be a good thing in some cases.
  17. Scoundrels are just a different name for the original Creme worms IIRC. Not sure if they still contain ground up nightcrawlers and whatnot though. I would imagine that you can fish them like any plastic worm - texas, carolina, wacky, flickshake, dropshot, neko rig, as a jig trailer, etc.
  18. Zoom Tiny Fluke (3") in baby bass color.
  19. Oh- I get it now. Brain fart here. At first for some reason it looked to me like you had hooked it through the side in that picture.
  20. So you hook them through the side? Is the tail supposed to move up and down or side to side?
  21. Well first off, I've heard that these things work best in the early mornings. Are you fishing parallel (or as parallel as you can get) to weedlines and cover? I've found fish in my local ponds to hit my poppers more when I walk and pop them - I'd walk them for a foot or two, then make it spit a little water, and then walk it again. Dunno how the fish in your ponds would react to that though. In fact, I've had bass hit poppers that had been sitting on top of the water doing nothing for 5 minutes due to me taking a call!
  22. We have our share of shad up here. If you see what appears to be a bunch of small splashes on the surface, in my experience it's usually small dink bass feeding on bugs.
  23. I know how much many of you love the Rage Tail Craws. However, I was wondering if any of you have ever used different trailers such as split tail trailers, 5" grubs, etc. to tip your skirted jigs. If so, was it successful? The reason for this quesiton is because I was thinking of imitating shad with swim jigs, but am not sure if tipping it with a plastic jerkbait or swimbait, etc. would help in that aspect.
  24. I can only say this - don't get it because you think it will help you catch way more fish. Get it because it will make your fishing experience more enjoyable. A lighter, smoother reel with better high end components will feel better in your hands. Your wrists won't get sore as easily, and the reel is less prone to breaking down. Should it ever break, the warranty is likely to be better as well. I like to look at it like getting a car. A Honda civic will get you from point A to point B just as well as a Bentley. But the latter will probably have a smoother ride, better handling, and be overall more enjoyable to drive in.
  25. Double tailed grub in pearl imo. Can fish it like a craw, or rip one tail off and fish it like a shad. Color changes can be done with JJ's.
