  1. Just went back and looked to make sure I am not ruining my engine, and the recommended for mine is 87 with 10% or less. So I was wrong abut the 15%. http://www.mercurymarine.com/engines/outboards/ Jeff
  2. My 2011 Merc 4 stroke is rated to run off 87 with a M15 rating( which means it can handle gas with up to 15% methanol) Jeff
  3. Fair enough, When I was looking, which I might add was several years ago, the 4-stroke had the better fuel efficiency for my application. (same test data from Merc) I guess that is why they make so many of both! Jeff
  4. TN river main forage is threadfin shad. Best option would be one with some chartreuse. Just sayin! Jeff
  5. Hey slone, 4 stroke should get better gas mileage. Also, a fuel injected 4 stroke will be muxh less finicky in extreme temperatures. Jeff
  6. The latest installment of Bass Resource members DD bass: Dwight Hottle:(Welcome to the club sir) A-Jay: (with his second Baccarac DD, and the biggest of BR members so far 11lb 11oz)) And myself: (5th) I certainly look forward to updating this list at the end of March next year! Jeff
  7. Need to change that front hook. It has a treble bent out. I presume from that monster catch! Jeff
  8. I would sign up and fish my spot! Jeff
  9. Post a pic. There are tons of fakes on fleabay! Jeff
  10. Welcome to the forums! Jeff
  11. Great video. Explains everything well. The rods I had were Carbonlite H/XF rods. They were given to the guides, and I will be bringing mh/f rods like I recommend this time. The first 2 times I had mh/f rods and they worked great. Better believe I will have them back next trip! Jeff
  12. 4lb 7 oz in hand and 6lb even for ground Jeff
  13. Sent you an email, and attempted to send a PM...... Jeff
  14. Of course it is, but someone not knowing would search a while looking for a "Scrounga" bait!
  15. Scrouger with a white fluke! Jeff
  16. WOW! Is all I can say. That was crazy! Jeff
  17. I ordered those cutters per Dwight's suggestion and they are "the ticket"! Jeff
  18. Couple of more that are not in the album! View from the lodge: And 2 of the sunsets: Jeff
  19. Research numbers updated! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/124209-rate-of-dd-bass-lake-baccarac/page-3#entry1402805 These numbers are all being tallied and collected, but I can tell you that there were 3 over the magical 10lb mark and a total of 13 over the 7 lb mark! Jeff
  20. With the total number of hours for my research now at 420 hours, the total number of bass caught over the magical 10lb mark is now at 10, for myself and people who have gone with me(not including the guides). This brings the rate to: 420 hours/10bass = 1 DD bass per every 42 hours fished!!! Next scheduled trip down is in March and is filling fast! Already 8 people signed up! This should at least triple the total number of hours on the water, and gain even more valuable research data! Jeff
  21. I would like to second that and offer a toast! Welcome to the DD club my friend! :drinking-62: :drinking-62: Jeff
  22. Just got back, and calculating the numbers now! We added another 135 hours on the lake, bringing the total number of hours up to 420 hours for this "scientific study" and while I know the results, I cannot post the new numbers until the official post has been made. Jeff
  23. Well well......I go off for a week and come back to this! As long as plans stay the same, everyone is gonna have to put up with me AGAIN! Jeff
  24. Welcome to the forums! Jeff
