  1. Jig.....without even considering anything else! Jeff
  2. When I was 7 my father and I attended our first ever go kart race. The same week we went out and bought a racing kart(used) and the number on it was "00". I used that same number for 18 years of racing. The last kind of car I raced was and IMCA( International Modified Car Association). Most places called them open-wheeled mods for short. The first ever web forum I joined was a racing based forum and my name there was 00 mod. And so it stuck! Jeff
  3. Thanks, but as I notice, everyone that has commented has more posts than I do! Am ya'll say I talk to much! Jeff

You are looking for a "deal" to get a gun that cheap. The best thing about a pawn shop, is you can almost guarantee the gun to not be stolen. Bad side about a pawn shop, is they know the going price for your area, and unless they are desperate to get rid of it, won't make the kind of "deal" you are looking for. At a shop they have hourly wages and overhead to pay! Jeff
  5. My guess would also be a juvenile bluegill, and maybe more specifically a juvenile pumpkinseed? Jeff
  6. Well guys(and gals) as I type this I realize that it is my 1000th post here on BR. I hope all of the Info I have allowed has been half as good as the info I have gathered. Made new friends, and hope to make many more. My addiction to the great sport has grown by leaps and bounds. The bait monkey has hit me and my wallet hard, but it is all in great fun. Heres to good times, good friends, great fish and tight lines to all! Jeff
  7. Keep fishing....smallies fish just like LM....well almost, but they eat the same things and can be caught on the exact same lures! Jeff

Take the dog to the nearest vet and have it checked for a micro-chip. It is a tiny embedded device that most breeders and almost all rescue group put in the back neck skin of dogs so that if they do get lost, they can scan at any vet and have the contact info of the owners! Jeff
  9. Great post! Because I believe just like you, it is not the "end all, cure all!" Jeff
  10. Add an extra $15 http://compare.ebay.com/like/300614833233?_lwgsi=y&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar Jeff
  11. Don't worry so much as how fast it will go, but as to what shape EVERYTHING is in, including but not limited to motor(compression check, good impeller etc.), the transom, rest of hull, interior, electronics, trolling motor, batteries............. Jeff Personally I don't think you need to go over 45-50 on the water if you are concerned about being "safe"

Depends on the area and the economic status of the people. I have run across deals you would never imagine, and then been some places where a used price is less than $50 off brand new. Some shops here in Memphis have consignment, and they are gonna be a little higher than say "the guy you know at the mechanic shop around the corner who is selling some tools and guns because he needs money to buy his kids Christmas presents." Good deals are to be had, you just have to be patient, cash in hand, and always looking! Jeff
  13. Congrats! Beautiful fish. Love the markings! Jeff

Used is for sure the way to go there, and about the only reliable shotgun I would consider in that kind of price range would be to find a used Ithaca 37 or a browning bps pump. Pumps, for the most part are always gonna be reliable. Only things you really have to worry about are rust(big no-no), someone storing shells in the gun for a long amount of time and weakening the spring so that the shells wont pop out, and making sure the firing pin is still in good shape. My suggestion would be to save a little money and get a better used gun or look for what I have mentioned here and make sure to break it down and look over it well, as well as ask to shoot it first! Good luck and let us know what you find...... PS- Many people suggest using slugs or buckshot for home defense. I recommend using something much smaller that will still do damage, but not go through walls. Personally my hd shotgun has 1 1/8 oz 7.5 shot with a IC choke. Plenty enough to do damage and will not go through a wall and potentially harm someone on the other side. Pumps are also good for home defense for reliability( no FTF) and the sound is enough to scare someone off. Last thing you really want to do is live the rest of your life knowing you took someone else's. Jeff
  15. You know I wouldn't put a "blue" line on my green reel or my white one? Samurai is green...you need to have your eyes checked! Jeff http://www.daiwa.com/Line/line_samurai.aspx
  16. I know the 12lb yo zuri hybrid that I use has a breaking strength of something like 19.5 lbs. RW, you remember the day you were using one of my jig rods my front yard pitching and remarked about how much you like the "softness" of the braid I was using.....that was Samurai! Jeff
  17. Bassboy1 is AMAZING at what he does. He was very helpful in my build as well, as far as what to do and what to use! His builds are some of the BEST jon builds I have ever seen. Chris' boat is amazing. Jeff
  18. First fish under 6 lbs in over a year?? Jeff
  19. No problem....I use YZH on almost all of my rods. My 2 jig setups have daiwa samurai braid, and I have one spinning rod with ivisix flouro. I don't stray to much either! LOL Jeff
  20. I think you will be better off with the YZH as an all purpose line......if it aint broke dont fix it! Jeff
  21. Well the birds were diving all over the place last Sunday in Yellow Creek. Hopefully it wont make it to the dam, and wont be a full on shad kill. What causes the water to muddy like that and how long will it take to clear up? Jeff

semi/pump/over under/sxs? What are your primary uses for said gun? what is your budget? Lots of unanswered questions Jeff
  23. No signs of shad in the river right? Last sunday I went and fished on the lake and in yellow creek there were thousands of gulls and we saw some shad dead on top of the water. Then occasionally you would see one start to flutter up to the top and then fall back down.......hope it was just a yellow creek thing and doesnt hurt our river fishing! Jeff
  24. I know a buddy who catches them on plums. one day he set a plum out and got a phone call. Wasn't paying attention and when he turned back around his whole rod and reel were gone! Jeff
  25. Does anyone know for sure whether or not the spools interchange. I just got my new ci4 and was shocked there was no spare spool. Sucks, but the reel is light as all get out. Will know about the handle after I use it once....its about 50/50 on reviews from others who have used it! Jeff
