  1. I have been going at sun up, but not really getting bit until the sun is actually up in the sky and the water is getting direct sun light. Cant keep me away early, but if I had only a couple hours, I wouldn't get there until 9 or so this time of year to maximize my time on the water! Jeff
  2. Panther Martins, little cleos and inline spinners will work, but not near as well as powerbait for stockers, at least around here! Jeff
  3. Unfortunately stockers around here are used to being fed pellitized food and about the only thing you can get them to bite on is powerbait. Jeff

  5. x2 on all of this, and as I forgot to mention structure, my number one "spot" for brown fish(smallies as well) are eddies! Big lazy fish staying out of the current and waiting on an easy meal! Jeff
  6. My suggestion is a ultra light spinning rod (ml) with 4 or no more than 6 lb line, while drifting either wax worms, red worms, sculpin, or shad. If you prefer the artificial route, I recommend countdown rapalas or little cleos. Be careful, brown trout are VERY addictive! Jeff
  7. Roll Tide from a HOG fan! Also congrats to my hogs last night on capping off an 11 win season! Jeff
  8. If you do take a boat out in the salt, use a common yard sprinkler to put under your boat and trailer and let it run for a couple hours afterwards! Will help was the salt off! Jeff
  9. I have not heard of a shad kill either! Jeff
  10. I think the balance beam type cull system with a 5 lb weight on one end is a good enough scale! LOL! "It's over 5, and thats all that matters!" Jeff
  11. That picture was actually taken while diving off the coast of Belize, near, but not in the famouse "Blue Hole" Jeff
  12. No go for me this weekend! Jeff
  13. Trumpet fish for sure....trigger is one like I posted! Jeff
  14. He is awesome! I got a ton of my knowledge through talking with him as well as researching his builds! He is nuts when it comes to building boats, and if I could have afforded him/waited as long as it took, he would have modded mine a little more than I have it now! Jeff
  15. Baitcasting 10 lb LM or 6lb SM?
  16. I have 2 rods I use for jigs......but my new #1 is BCR854GLX Jeff

  18. x2! Always have 2 people on boat that are experienced enough to run the boat very well while on the river and especially with lots of water like now! Live bait was used! Jeff
  19. Fished yesterday on the river.. Caught a lot of fish.....mostly drum, carp and catfish, with a few white bass, one striper, one sauger one LM and 8 smallies! The drum/carp and even one catfish were HUGE!!! The smallies were all good size as well, 2lb- 3 1/2 lbs! Jeff
  20. Drifting down the TN river on Sunday there were a LOT of fish caught. A LOT of drum, carp, catfish, white bass, and a few striped bass, and one sauger. Between the 2 of us we caught 8 smallies though and one LM. We keyed in on an area that Kent and I had "found" 2 weeks ago, and I am thinking that Kent caught alot of his fish there the previous 2 days. Might have been the reason for our lower Bass numbers but what I can say is the trash fish were HUGE!!! We caught 4 drum/carp OVER 10 lbs, 1 Catfish over 10 lbs and a couple in the 5-6 lb range. Our smallies were all in the 2-3.5 lb range so it was good to catch a decent size and they fight great! The one large mouth was a little buck bass. Sauger came just 1/4" under the size limit to keep and eat! Oh well, great day on the river, and hopefully still some to come! Jeff Here is the AVERAGE size carp/drum we were catching! The biggest had to be run down, as it made a surge for the middle and we had to get on the trolling motor and chase it for 300 yrds or so! LOL
  21. Happy Birthday!!! Jeff
  22. The boatel boat ramp. Got ya. Jeff
  23. Nice catches! Congrast! Rocks the key? Jeff
