Whats In Your Box Thats Not Tackle?
I can think of a few things: btw, my tackle box is actually a daypack Fishing License snips waterproof box for phone copy of boat registration always a few napkins for emergency spare pair of glove liners some loose change, few lighters, pieces of leaves, bark, some lint for sure and a piece of deer antler (memento from a trip with my bud to Mexico)

In Trouble From Fishing
The only thing that gets me in trouble fishing these days is, going without my wife lol.

Offset Vs Ewg Hooks
It's my opinion that the more hook riding under the bait, the more chance a hook turns to the side during a bite decreasing your chances of a hook up. While this may or not be a problem with all hooks the difference lies with the points angle in relation to the hook eye. Other factors to consider are bait size / thickness when deciding between the many hooks on the market. Hooks with a point in-line with the eye (easy weedless rigging) will miss more fish because the fish clamps on a flat and you need to pull a hook into meat. This is often a problem with a typical weedless rigging or skin hooking. Just picture it, the fish clamps down on a flat, the hook rolls to a side and you still need to pull to set that hook. Take that same hook and bend the point up a little or use a straight shank or other style flippin hook that has a point pointing upward needs the slightest pressure begins penetrating into meat almost setting itself. These hooks are far more difficult to rig for weedless presentations but, really don't miss fish. Picture this, as a fish clamps down on this style hook, regardless if the hook begins to roll to a side, the point is already made contact and begun to penetrate. The trick to rigging this style hook is to never bring the hook point completely through the bait.... stop that point just below the exit point. As for offsets a few degrees to one side or the other on an EWG... Same rolling effect still comes into effect. If that hook rolls towards the point, you're golden, if it rolls the other way, it's almost complete miss cause now the point isn't even close to meat till the bait is exiting the mouth. Hopefully this makes sense to someone..

When Nobody's Biting
Once on the water, never leave without at least one. Can't leave with a skunk in the boat.

Fishing In Weeds?
A keel weighted worm or craw (rage rig) is the ticket here. Because the fall of the bait is horizontal, it limits the pinch-effect caused by line angle and can be worked right through the grass without much work. This works especially well when you have some holes in the grass too.

How To Start A Niche Product Company In Fishing.
Much depends on the product itself... the numbers needed for an initial inventory for your launch, amounts expected for future sales, cost of machinery, the whole employer thing etc. In my case, it was far more cost effective to spend the days on the phone and surfing the web to find manufacturers than it was to buy a machine and manufacture myself. Like I said, much would depend on the product. If you were to make special screen printed shirts or cool decals and do that then yes, it may be more cost effective to do yourself. Provided you have the time. Everything has a value towards your bottom line including your own time.

8/1/12 Ne Pa Hawg! Guess Weight?
Great fish Sun Fish, WTG.... I think you found a new spot.... As for weighing, it's real easy. Put fish in a typical plastic bag you get from supermarket... hang bag and fish on scale. Much less chance of fish flopping off, you don't need to worry about gills or finding a hole to hook it through.

A Great Fight!
Well actually, I changed to spare pair of shorts before the picture knowing the BR consequences for wearing camo shorts in the picture.... LMAO Camo shorts make as much difference as bait/color selection but, should be hidden as often as possible like your favorite bait. Thanks babe and Shane.

Surfing Br Via Mobile - Two Thumbs Up
I'm not certain how many people noticed or even care for that matter but, BR has got to be among the best forums to surf via a mobile phone. I was amazed last night when I was making some bookmarks and made it here to the BR forums. Great job with the setup for mobile, it was a pleasure to view topic titles without the normal zoom to read, spin and zoom a little more. It was quick and just plain on the money. Did I say Great Job!

Mystery Tackel Box
No one has tried the service yet, August will be the first box shipped out. Seeing as they were at ICAST and were just written about on the Techcrunch website, they are for real and not some fly by night outfit. They had also made comments that each box will have a selection of hard baits as well as soft baits and sometimes terminal tackle. The idea is to put something that works in the hands of anglers and for many, remove questions of what works and what doesn't. I think it will be great for beginners and more experienced anglers as well.

How Long Does A Bass Live Out Of Water ?
This will seem a little blunt but, here goes..... Ask yourself this, how long can you hold your breath under water? After you inhale 2 lungs of water, how long before you die? How much longer till your body quits twitchin? Do you think slitting your throat would be a more humane death than flailing about the ground gasping for air till you finally quit? If you haven't got my example yet, there are three choices here. 1) yes, you can choose to kill them humanely 2) you can release them to swim again or 3) you can let them flap about till they die.

Do You Match Your Jig Trailer
Sometimes...... I find that often times, contrasting colors have a good effect on the eating habits of fish. For instance, black jig with a blue sapphire trailer. Maybe a green jig with a brown trailer or brown jig with a black or green trailer. Experimenting is the name of the game....

This Or That - Jig Skirt
Update!!!! For those of you that chose the skirt on the left, my wife chose it too and used it yesterday to whoop my butt! We were fishing slightly stained water, under overcast skies with periods of bright sunshine. She paired it with a blue swirl trailer and it was like the energizer bunny, kept catching and catching and catching....
