  1. I know I'm about to stir up a hornet's nest here, but I'm just being honest not trash talking...cheap cork is why I got rid of my month old Savvy.
  2. Yeah, me too. When I said, "comfortable" that included balance. I think balance is one of the most important factors in achieving high sensitivity. I was wanting all of my rods to have EVA, but the last two rods I've bought have been good cork and I love them so I'm kind of straddling the fence. I do like a split grip better. It makes perfect sense in my mind that dense cork would be more sensitive than EVA because it's harder, stiffer. just my 2 cents.
  3. I don't care if it looks like a dried-up white dog turd, ( no offense boyd duckett owners ) I want the most comfortable, sensitive, and lightweight rod I can afford.
  4. Not me dude. I can't stand to hear any noise coming from my reels. i don't want to hear any clicking, ticking, roaring, squealing, hissing or whirring during the cast or retrieve. NOTHING.
  5. I haven't played with any Pflueger spinners in a while, but that is something I've never heard of. J Francho or one of the other reel experts needs to answer this one.
  6. It may sink a little faster JF. Nothing to write home about. I do like the line though. edit- it shows up alot more if you're fishing a fluoro leader. Say you were to throw PP w/fc leader and 832 w/fc leader then you would see it alot more.
  7. Elaborate...I'm not following you here. When what hit's what top? Spinning or BC?
  8. These are the ones in the white bag that say hand-poured right? I think it is. They look amazingly real. That smokin ice is one of the best small minnow imitations I've ever laid eyes on.
  9. I'm satsified with smoothness of Sufix 832 to. Just not the diameter to strength ratio. 832 is bigger than the old Sufix Performance Braid. To me, (on a BC) the old PP's 12-50 was the perfect diameter to strength ratio for almost all flipping/pitching apps, t-rigs c-rigs, and jigs. The only time I would deviate from it would be if I were flippin into the really heavy salad. Thinking about giving Toray Finesse Braid 55# a try until Super Slick becomes available. I'm using 832 now, but I got a new flippin reel so it's time to try something new...d*#n bait monkey has me in a Kimura hold lately.
  10. I was just about completely sold on high quality eva, but I bought a GLoomis and have grown to love the cork on it. It's a completely different feel than my previous, lesser quality cork. It's hard to explain, it just feels right.
  11. Try the Spro Aruku Shad lipless. I just recently started using them, but I already like them much better than rapala, red-eye shad, rat-l-trap. Xcalibur is another good one. Still, second to the Spro in my opinion.
  12. I hope they've kept their diameter to strength ratio super small like the regular PP. If they have somehow just taken the old line and made it smoother and quieter without changing any of it's positive attributes...that would be an awesome line. I'm interested in seeing that timber brown in the water.
  13. A new 8 strand offering from PP. Can't wait to get my hands on this.
  14. Final overall weight is something to be considered...if it's not as light, it won't be as sensitive.
  15. ...and while a few pics from TW has spun Shimano around from an industry leader to making Berney Ebbersish decisions...I picked up a new 7'1" Cumulus/Core 100mgfv combo for $475 shipped lol
  16. I love those big fat septon grips that come on the Curado E200s and are now on the Chronarch. I'll be willing to bet the ones on the Chronarch have bearings in them though. If so, I'll be buying six new Chronarch handles to put on my Core 50s and Curado E50s.
  17. Agreed. This is the internet at it's best. Not one person (well there maybe one or two) on BR has ever seen or touched these reels or rods. I don't understand it either, but I'm not buying that they just simply changed some names and paint jobs. Like someone else said, it opens up some options for lefties and I personally think the gap between the Chronarch and Core was opened on purpose to either add a new reel series between them or drop the Core into it and bring out a new top notch reel. I've been a die-hard Shimano guy since the first Chronarch. I do own different brand reels, but when the price tag gets over about $150-$175 it's always a Shimano. However, I've been looking at other brands lately trying to find something in between the Curado E and the Core because I didn't like the Chronarch of late. Hopefully, they're doing something about that. I read somewhere the other day that said the Curado E had been the best selling reel Shimano has ever made so it's reasonable to think they won't can that design. Shimano didn't get where they are by being bone-heads so don't write them off yet.
  18. LOL same here about both. A spook or repo man will dang near spool it and it was my first low-profile reel. Once I fished it a few times the flood gates opened. I wanted all my reels to be low-pro and now they are.
  19. I've never seen it before today. TW is advertising it and I thought it was new. Guess it's kind of obvious I'm not much of a Daiwa guy.
  20. I'm thinking maybe someone has an obsession with Night Rider??
  21. Really? I bought it in 2004, they were calling it the Finesse combo. I thought it was made by one of the big companies because at the time the top notch Johnny Morris reel looked identical to a Pflueger Supreme. Wdycrank- Not at the moment I'm not, but seven years of service for $50...I believe I owe it to the thing to fix it if it breaks. The thumb-bar/spool release, whatever you call it, was jamming a few months ago, but I got it working again. I'll holler at you when it breaks.
  22. It's missing the BPS emblem on the left side. Obviously, this is a BPS Pro Lite but what company made it and what model is it? Whatever it is, it's been a good one. Yeah, it's a little rickity and rough but it's lasted for seven years now and will throw a mile. I'm just curious of what it is.
  23. I can't wait to get them in and see how they compare to my Cores. Like someone said earlier, "It feels like Christmas". Finally, there will be no more looking down on my deck thinking, man I want to throw a senko or DD22, but I hate throwing that uncomfortable battle tank reel. My senko rod and deep cranking rod will be fun to throw again.
  24. LOL I already did and they did the same for me.
