Berkley Havoc Soft Plastics.
Tried it, even on a private lake where they eat anything they wouldn't touch it. It does make a decent bladed jig trailer, just not good enough to justify carrying them. I could see it being a good swim jig trailer, but I rarely fish as swim jig so again just not worth carrying.

Favorite Spinner
Depends, what are we fishing for? I'll stick with the theme of in-line spinners and say mine is a #3 Mepps with brown squirrel tail and a chartreuse blade. If I'm after trout it would be a 1/8oz Roostertail in white, black, or yellow.

Who Uses Wake Baits?
They just introduced it at Icast 2014 a few weeks ago but our local BPS already had them in stock so I picked one up, only Arashi I own. It's a good looking bait and with fall fast approaching it should be getting put through the paces shortly.

First Impressions Of The Spro Baby Popper Frog, Somethings Not Right
I opened the gap up on my popping frog very slightly and rarely miss a fish with it.

Who Uses Wake Baits?
Just picked up one of Storm's new Arashi wakebaits, really excited to give it a test run.

Megabass Popmax, Is It Any Good?
Nope, no trees in Kansas. Just don't snag a cow or let a tornado suck them up and you'll be fine. They're a good bait and like others said, the chances of losing a topwater are way less than a diving bait. Fish it on braid if you're really worried about it. Just don't bounce them off of anything, Megabass baits are notorious for being fragile.

Berkley Havoc Soft Plastics.
I carry or have fished almost every bait Havoc makes, only one I didn't like was the Devil's Spear. The Pit Boss, Subwoofer, Beat Shad, Juice Worm, Bottom Hopper, Sick Fish, Flat Dawg, Backslide, and now the new Money Maker all have solid spots in my tackle bag.

Some Prefishing Fun
I'd bet money it's a homemade bait. That's a bubbler blade you can buy from tackle supply stores and the lack of eyes on the jighead and the dimple from where the weedguard pin was are pretty sure signs it's not a bait you'd find in store. I make some of mine with the bubbler blades but not sure if there's any advantage to them over the regular blades, but they both work. This is one of my baits I made with the bubbler blade, and obviously they work

Help Me Identify A Fish
Shad, skipjack, shiners, herring, all sorts of baitfish that will jump when spooked. If they look anything like this though, call your local DNR immediately.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
If any of you guys are interested in chipping in to potentially get access to fish Linn Valley Lakes in Linn Co, send me a PM or text if you have my number. Also, talked to Raymond from Mondo today and he wanted to know if all of us would like to meet at Mondo one night for a discount shopping night and so he can get some ideas of what everyone thinks he should or shouldn't be carrying. If you're interested let me know and I'll talk to him and try to get a night planned out.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Never seen a bass eat a gar either, crazy. I think a lot of the shad are still small and hiding in the flooded vegetation along the shoreline out there. The smallies sure have gotten a lot skinnier since the water came up haven't they?

Booyah Pad Crasher - What's Going On?
I have the Nasty Shad and like it really well but with regular frogs I prefer black.

Monster Bass Spotted On Nj Golf Course (Double Digit Fish!)
No idea, I've never asked them, but I know they act like you've insulted their mother if you ask if you can fish the ponds. I've offered to pay, offered to sign a waiver so if I get hurt, nothing.

Are You Kidding Me, And Then...
Get a good mono or copolymer line and forget the leader. Copolymer has great abrasion resistance. Berkley Big Game is very affordable line and makes great line for cranking.

Send your reel to DVT and have him supertune your reel, it's made a HUGE difference in my casting distance.

How Big Of An Anchor For My Kayak?
I know some guys buy a basketball net and put a few rocks in it and tie their rope to that. Cheap, easy, and you can adjust the weight accordingly.

Booyah Pad Crasher - What's Going On?
Maybe taking on water? If you want a bait that really walks, get a Spro Bronzeye shad, you won't have any problems walking that thing.

Are You Kidding Me, And Then...
I've always used mono for cranking. I think what confuses me the most is why you're using a fluoro leader to a mono mainline?? Abrasion resistance? Just because your rod doesn't say "cranking" on it somewhere doesn't mean it won't work. I used a 6' 6" M/F rod with a 5:8.1 reel for fishing squarebills around cover for a long time and lost very few fish with it. Congrats on getting one at your arch enemy lake. I fished mine last week for a few hours and never caught a thing.

Monster Bass Spotted On Nj Golf Course (Double Digit Fish!)
I hope you catch the fish and I hope you're not breaking any laws by fishing the golf course pond They hold monster fish, but fishing one around here ranks just below murder as far as the severity of the crime is concerned it seems.

That would be another advantage of a paper tournament, weigh ins go much faster. We could always still weigh them but just do it on our boats and have to show the scale and fish in a picture kind of like we do at the get togethers, that would be much faster as well. Not having to catch keepers also makes lakes like Olathe or Hillsdale more viable options when you don't have to catch 18" fish on lakes were there aren't many.

Used Cavitron Buzzbaits For The First Time.......
I've broke one Cavitron but that was after being bent back into shape over and over again after dozens of fish. You bend wire enough times and it's going to break, I know that and can't say I was surprised when it happened. Good thing is all I had to do was grab the next one off the pegboard at home and I was back in business next trip

Fishing Here, Help.
I love craw imitations in situations like that. Try a baby Rage craw or smaller craw papi on small swinging football head and the current will make the bait move around even at rest like a real craw scuttling through the rocks.
