Kc Spring Get Together
Open your eyes sucka, it"s on the first page in the very first post. Where is the glacier arm? Is that maybe the glaize arm? Up the river is probably the least busy place on LOZ that time of year.

Spinnerbaits Or Swimbaits?
Will you be able to set a hook with it though? I know none of my cranking sticks would be capable of setting the hook with a swimbait unless I was fishing a small hard bait with trebles. No way I could set the hook with it well enough to hook up consistently with a belly weighted swimbait hook.

Spinnerbaits Or Swimbaits?
When I was fishing as a nonboater and I wasn't sure if I'd need my cranking rod or not, I usually opted to take a 7' M/F rod instead. It's still capable of fishing a crankbait but you can fish almost anything else on it also. If there's a good chance there may be a cranking bite I would take a cranking rod instead though.

Strike King Rage Blade
I've tried pouring some with weedguards but found it messes with my hookup ratio more than I'd like. I have a couple tied up right now that I tied on some home made swinging football heads with a 4/0 EWG hook. Going to try putting a Havoc Subwoofer or beat shad on the back of it, T-rigged, so I can pull it through heavy cover without hanging. Hoping the hinged head will give them a different action than a standard bladed jig also.

Spinnerbaits Or Swimbaits?
Those are two of my favorite power plant lake baits during the winter time so I'd be fishing both for sure. Last time I was out I started with a spinnerbait to pick up the aggressive fish, then switched to a 4" Havoc Sick Fish to clean up the less aggressive fish, it was really effective too.

Worst Day On The Lake Stories
Drove 7 hours to fish a regional tournament when I fished the BASS weekend series. Fished for 3 days, caught 4 fish, one keeper. Fishing was so bad though, if I'd had 1 more 2 pound keeper I would have gone to the championship. My boaters over 3 days combined for 1 keeper as well, just terrible fishing.

The Best Thing About This Winter
Hunting season is the only good thing about winter.

Most Terrifying Fishing Experience?
I got to the lake once and realized I'd forgotten to put the batteries in the boat

Are Big Baits Really Better?
Are they the best? no. If you're after a truly huge muskie or pike they're going to be one of the best options though. If you're enjoying fishing the baits you're fishing and you're happy with the fish you're catching then who cares what the other guy is throwing?

My Near State Record!
If it had only been the smallmouth I thought it was when it first bit and for the first couple moments of the fight! From way back on the 4th of July, I'd been catching some really nice smallies and was thinking I had a shot at a really nice one when I hooked him. Wife was deleting videos off her phone and found it and uploaded it for me. Sorry it's sideways and don't mind my antics at the end, our dog always goes with me and we have pretty good dialog back and forth sometimes

The Flu
Last time I was really sick was the last time I got the flu shot. Haven't had one since and so far haven't had the flu or whatever I had since then. I have to credit my high exposure to every nasty cold/flu virus known to man at my work with building up my immune system I believe.

Floating Baits For C-Rig
I like the Zman FattyZ and Zinker on a Crig. Going to try their Flappin CrawZ and Palmetto Bug on one this year also.

Froggin For Lmb
X2, bend the hooks up a little bit. I have H2O frogs and have no problem hooking up but I bend the hooks up slightly so they aren't as tight to the plastic. The Spro Bronzeye frogs have very sharp hooks also. What rod/reel/line are you using? Sharp hooks want make a bit of difference if you happen to be fishing your frogs on the wrong gear.

Muddy Water Bassin
Sounds like a good day to me. We had a couple days of nice weather that melted some of the ice but it was snowing on my way to work tonight and supposed to be in the single digits the next couple nights so all that will be froze right back up

Tournament Block
I've had it happen twice when it was blatant and no number of friendly request could change it. Once I started dragging a shakyhead up the drop after casting out to deeper water and caught the only keeper that day. The other occasion was at a shallow lake with tons of standing timber. I put on a spinnerbait and did my best to make as many casts as possible. That one was a paper tournament and I beat my boater by 2 inches. In both cases I was doing the opposite of what the jerk in the front of the boat was doing. If it's a bigger tournament I wouldn't be shy about filing a complaint with the tournament director if it was completely intentional. Sometimes, it just can't be prevented. If you're fishing a narrow creek, through very dense timber, or if the fish just want a bait parallel to the shoreline, then you may just have to deal with it. If the guy is keeping the boat positioned in a way that prevents you from really even having a chance to fish and refuses to be civil after you politely request him to set the boat so you have a chance to fish, that's when I'd be talking to the TD about it. My brother in law had it happen as bad as anyone I've ever heard of once. He was doing good and his boater wasn't so they moved spots. Once they got to the next spot the guy parked the boat nearly on the bank and started paralleling the bank with a crankbait. When my BIL asked if he could back the boat off the bank a little the guy said "If you want to fish where you want to fish then you should buy your own boat." He had more restraint than I would have had, pretty sure I'd have been finding out how good that guy could swim

Is that where you want to vote for? I've got a free place to stay at on the rock now

To Be Bass Fishing On The Rock For Good!!!
I've been hearing mixed results. Seems like if you can find them in deep water in the cuts with bait you can really knock their lights out. Sounds like the jerkbait and A-rig bite have been almost nothing though. There's always fish to be caught somewhere on Table Rock all year round.

Kc Spring Get Together
Pretty sure I caught my first fish of the trip when we were down there for the Classic out from under Long's Resorts Dock. We caught quite a few fish around that area. I'm not sure if we have anyone planning on bringing their whole families with them? I know there's a couple guys planning on bringing their sons to fish with them but that's all I've heard of?

Pflueger Spinning Reels
I had 2 Supreme XT's. Stripped gears in both of them when they slipped during a hookset. Loved the reels but can't stand to buy another if it's going to fail on me like that. I have 2 Supreme MGXs also. One of them makes a clicking noise and has a noticeable catch during the retrieve, the other is perfect.

Fishing Isn't For Everyone
0:45 that guy is the only one surprised that his rod broke. The guy with the shark screamed a little manlier than I think I would in the same situation

Kc Spring Get Together
I'm cheering for the Broncos, and a Manning retirement He named 2 lakes so I split his vote, even my country educated self can do that math Now if we get guys wanting to give 3/32 of their vote to one lake and 5/16 to another and stuff like that we're screwed

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Sounds like you've been doing better than anyone else down there. I heard it was mostly frozen as recently as last week because of lack of generation and everyone I've talked to that has fished it anytime in the last month was struggling for 1 or 2 bites a day Hopefully they will pick up generation soon if they haven't already.

Does Anybody Own Rods Or Reels Made Ergonomically Especially For Women?
My wife has an Avid Pearl spinning rod and loves it. She has very small hands and it was wearing out her wrists to fish with any of my rods but she's gotten along great with that rod.

Lake Locked Stripers
Alabama Rig or Keitech swing impact. We went, unguided and with zero striper fishing knowledge, to Beaver Lake last year and boated several stripers between us in just 2 days of fishing. Swimming super flukes on the A-rigs, the Keitechs were on 1/4oz heads.
