Favorite Deep Diver
Our deep water isn't as deep as most others probably is. Most of my deep cranking is in the 12-15 foot range so the SK series 5 or 5XD is my favorite. I've been playing with the 6XD a little more this year and have been catching some fish on it, just don't have a feel for that deep of diving bait yet though. The Spro Little John DD is a great bait too but I worry about losing it if I snag up out of reach of my lure retriever.

I Did The Right Thing.
If they were arrested for being in the country illegally then their equipment had nothing to do with why they were being arrested. Still, would be very easy for them to cause the officer/agency issues for losing their property by not collecting it.

Why Should I Bother With Tungsten Sinkers?
I have a few I use when I'm flipping grass because the smaller profile helps it get through the weeds better. It may have a couple other very slight advantages like slightly faster fall because of the smaller profile and such but not any big enough advantages for me to fish with them just for fun.

North American Fisherman?
From the forum rules and FAQ's: I have a question about the Kicktail, Banjo Minnow, Doug Hannon Snake, Walking Worm lures, or the North American Fishing club Do a search on the name. There's plenty of posts about it, which will answer your question.

Whats A Good Spinner?
What is a "regular" spinner to you? Do you mean an inline spinner like a Mepp's or Roostertail, or a safety pin style spinnerbait? White with silver blades would be my pick in most situations if I was facing green water color.

I Did The Right Thing.
I hope you're right but unfortunately if it's his first offense they'll probably lump them all together and just get one count. Just my experience from dealing with the court systems around here anyways.

How Much Wind Do You Consider To Be Windy?
One of the best days I ever had it was in the mid 40's with steady winds over 30mph and winds gusting over 40mph. Boat control was a pain but the fish were killing spinnerbaits and traps. As far as the spinnerbaits vs swim jig they're both good windy day baits. If the water is muddy you may be a little better off with a big, colorado bladed spinnerbait but other than that they're both good. Living in Kansas fishing in the wind is a way of life unfortunately.

Does Getting Skunked Bother You?
Does this actually happen to people? I get irritated with myself more than anything. The fish are there, they have to eat to survive, I just didn't do my part and figure out what they're eating and where they're eating it at.

Gar Fishing Lures
I caught one last night at about 2am on a chatterbait. Pitched into a dock stall and she slammed it and peeled line back up under the dock, thought I had a monster bass She wasn't hooked though, hook was just laid between the top and bottom jaw and the hook point was laid on top of her beak. While I was trying to decide what to do she opened her mouth and thrashed and was gone.

Trouble Setting The Hook.
When you say a spinner what kind do you mean? An inline spinner? safety pin spinner? What rod/reel/line are you using? My best guess would be either too light or too heavy gear that is either not driving the hook well or is ripping the hook out but more info will make it easier to determine the problem.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
First off I had to take this picture just to prove that I did actually catch a bass out of Hillsdale Now to the Adventures of Blue and Sizzle tackling Perry Lake in the dark Water was dirty, even for Perry. Wind blew harder than they said it would (shocker I know) and we struck out fishing around the ramp where I've caught so many fish before. Headed to Rock Creek Marina and fished the rip rap on the bridge and wasn't having any luck. I got momentarily sidetracked shooting gar that were hanging right on the surface under the bridge before we fished the backside of the bridge going into the marina. We didn't have anything to show until we got almost to the end of the rip rap by the docks when I finally caught a dink. Then Sean caught one, I lost one, he lost one, and I caught another in about 5 minutes. We fished around the backside of the docks and caught another one or two before we started fishing dock slips. I caught one or two and missed a couple more while Sean spent a lot of time walking the docks getting his bait back . Had a fish slam my chatterbait, rip drag under the dock, and got me all excited before I saw it was a gar We went around the other side of the marina and I caught a solid fish off the ramp dock before we jumped out so the dog could go to the bathroom. While I was trying to get my dog to focus on doing her business instead of sniffing the ground, Sean started catching fish on a spinnerbait walking the bank behind the docks, first one he caught was his biggest of the night. Probably should have weighed it, she was a solid fish. I think he had 4 fish before the dog finally did her business. I got in on the action and caught a couple myself. We decided to motor to the other marina by the dam (a long, rough ride over white caps on a moonless night). I broke off on the hookset on a solid feeling fish with a jig. Missed several bites with a jig and chatterbait while Sean was catching dinks pretty steady on a spinnerbait. I don't think I caught a single fish until we were fishing back out the breaker wall when I finally stuck a good fish on a jig, 3.96lbs on a black and blue home made jig. Caught several more bass and a walleye before we went over to Evan's Creek where I caught several more on a buzzbait and baby brush hog. Ran over to the south state park ramp where I got broke off by a heavy fish on a jig, again. I caught a dink on a jig and FINALLY caught a drum It was just starting to get full on sunny out and that was the end of our bass catching. We each caught another drum, I caught a white bass, and Sean caught a catfish before the wind really started rocking and we headed home!

Whats A Good Spinner?
War Eagle and Booyah are my 2 favorite spinnerbait brands. I also like white in green water. Painted blades are usually best on cloudy days or with heavily pressured fish.

Anyone Ever..
I catch a lot of bass with leeches stuck to the roof of their mouth, but their little ones. That thing looks like a lamprey to me, if it's a leech it's a monster!

Stop Swallowing My Bait!
Watch your line too, a lot of times you'll see the line jump before you ever feel the fish.

I Did The Right Thing.
I have no problem reporting people. I follow all the laws and so do a majority of people on the water so he should have to do the same. In my experience those are the same people who trash the lakes also because they have no respect for the water or land around it. As far as going to court, there's a good chance you'll have to go but not testify in my experience. Unless the guy decides to just plead guilty and pay his fine, his lawyer will want to see if you show up because you're the reason the DNR officer showed up in the first place. If you show up for that kind of thing a lot of times you won't even have to testify, he'll just plead out when he's sees you showed up.

White Bass
I love catching them on topwater. When they're busting shad a Super Spook Jr is a great bait. Obviously a little big for ultralight but a Zara Puppy works just fine on an ultralight and they love them, just a little harder to walk. Inline spinners work great but I seem to deep hook them a lot, not a good deal when you're going to release them. Roadrunners and 3" swimming tail or boot tail grubs work great and so do the smallest size rattle trap.

Jon will be there too. Sizzle got the spot, hopefully we'll put something other than big catfish and drum in the boat
