For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I always enjoyed fishing out there when I lived 5 minutes from it. The out of county permit prices and hour drive keep me away now. Having a local lake with a shot at big smallmouth is pretty unique in NE KS.

10 Lbs Braid line Safe for Wacky Setup: Sufix 832 Ghost
I use 10lb on a wacky rig all the time. I treat it the same as any other line.

Lake Guides
I understand what you're saying, but there would be no way to verify that someone isn't on here just to promote their business. Unfortunately, not everyone is completely honest in this world. I've had a couple times I've gone on trips and posted in the regional forum and every time I've had members offer me all kinds of help, right on up to taking me out in their boats and loaning me gear to use while I was there.

Curado 70 mechanical question and introduction.
After watching it, looks like the standard Shimano back play in the spool. I was thinking side to side wobble. A lot of their baitcasters do that.

Curado 70 mechanical question and introduction.
Tighten the spool tension knob (the one under the reel handle near your left index finger in the start of the video). That should take the wobble away.

Whopper Plopper 110 is here!
It's a straight retrieve bait so the rattles never come into play except you can hear them while fighting a fish

Anyone been to Lake Paho?
I've fished it a few times, great lake for quality fish. I usually have a pitching rod with braid and a black/blue Pitboss or Rage Craw on and flip the brush, laydowns, and grass. Lots of big fish in it but the brush is nasty and hard to get them out of. It's pretty shallow and pretty limited visibility.

Wakebait bill repair
Might try contacting Savage Gear and see what they suggest.

Cheese mats...good or bad?
The thick mats of slop are usually my best areas when it gets really hot out. Pain to fish, but they're productive.

Lake Guides
Too much grey area on who is doing it just to help folks out and who is promoting their guide business I'd guess.

Wacky Rods
Best wacky rig rod I've used. Mine is paired up with 20lb KastKing braid and a 35 size Supreme XT.

Braid Color
I fish bright pink braid because I can see it easier. Red PP fades really quickly so you end up with white line anyways, might as well buy white.

What Size Treble Hooks?
Shouldn't be any need for a stinger on a 6" Hudd. I've had 15 inchers choke them. If you feel you must, I'd go with a smaller but strong hook like a 2-4X strong hook in a #2 size. Only thing a stinger hook has ever caught me on a big swimbait is more snags.

Big lizards=Big Fish???
My PB was on an 8" Zoom lizard. An 8" lizard really isn't that big. No need to wait to set the hook as a 2 pound fish will inhale one with ease. Waiting can backfire a few different ways; allow the fish to spit the bait, let it swallow the hook, or get the bait balled up in it's mouth so you set the hook back into the plastic. I generally like a lighter weight with lizards, something like 1/8-1/4 ounce and I just drag them slowly along the bottom. They work well on a Carolina rig or a swinging football head also.
