Chatterbaits?
Green pumpkin is a good all around color. I fish mine on 15lb Big Game or Pline xtra strong. I'd suggest trying a Rage Menace rigged vertical for a trailer.

H20 xpress
The ones I have sink quickly. I change the hooks. I remove the back hook and put a single #2 on the belly.

H20 xpress
But which bait? The little bluegill swimbait? They make several baits in bluegill colors and I own most of them ?

Why does LC use junk hooks?
I don't like the LC stock hooks either. They don't seem that sharp to me but that's possibly because they're a little heavier hook than I typically replace them with. I mainly use ST36s, so that might be why they don't seem really sharp also. I replace mine right out of the package. I'm sure they're fine, just personal preference.

H20 xpress
Which one did you get? I've had good luck with all their baits.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
First one is a white bass, a very nice one too. White bass only have 1 line that reaches from their gills to their tail while wipers will have more than one.

Mean Mouth Bass
They're usually spot/smallmouth crosses that I've seen. I don't know how often the largemouth/smallmouth cross happens. I caught one at Table Rock I believe was a largemouth/spot mix that was a really cool looking fish. I caught a pretty smallmouth/spot meanmouth on a Whopper Plopper at Table Rock this fall.

Most Erratic Trailers?
Rig a Pit boss vertically. It's bulky so it displaces a lot of water, and the legs all flap during the retrieve.

Spinnerbait water temps???
I caught some last week in 43 degree water on a spinnerbait. A lighter bait with a single Colorado blade is my first choice in cold water because it allows for a slow retrieve while the thump and profile make it look like a bigger meal that is worth the energy expenditure.

Fishing in the Wind
Wind is a fact of life here. One of my best days last year we had straight winds over 35 and gust over 50. Usually I do way better if I'm out in the wind. It's easy to duck into coves and stay out of it, but that's rarely where the fish are in my experience.

sinker pegging
I use toothpicks as long as I'm using braid. They can damage other lines.

when to quit the jig
Not very often I feel like a jig is a bad idea. If you're struggling to get jig bites but you notice that fish are chasing your jig to the boat or eating it on the reel in, that would be a good example of when a moving bait would probably be better.

It was only 52 at the outlet when I was there last and that's what it was 2 weeks in a row.

My new rod!
Yeah, it definitely doesn't fit into the criteria of what I consider an UL. After getting to fish it some more, I'd classify it as a light. It fishes the baits I intended it for perfectly.

Bass Fishing
Yes you can but it is a very light rig and will sink very slowly.

I'd like to see pictures of the 10s. I'm wondering of they made it back to the lake too. My money is on no.
-
Pretty Sauger
They are neat lookingfish. They're usually almost black when I catch one.
-
Froggin' It
I use a 7' 3" H/F Ethos Micro. Pair that with a mid range reel like a Pflueger President and 50lb braid and you'll be ready to go for right at your price range.
-
Glass or no?
I use bother personally. The 1.0 size baits I fish on a spinning rod. The 1.5 and up sized baits I fish on a glass rod.
-
Revo ALX or Curado 70
I was fishing an 1/8oz hair jig on my 70xg last week and having no problems casting. I'm not an Abu fan so I have noteven heard of the other reel.

Had a first for me this morning. Caught 2 on topwater in February in Kansas not at a power plant lake. There was 28 others to go with them too.
