  1. Lizard or a full sized Brush Hog.
  2. Love those old Rangers, great looking boat.
  3. I really like the SK Flipping tubes. Snack Daddy and Pour Boy both have good tubes for flipping too.
  4. A plastic 2 man was my first boat and I caught a ton of fish out of that thing. I think you'll really enjoy that a lot more than fishing out of a canoe.
  5. Yes. It really depends on how thick the weeds are and how heavy the rig you're fishing are. Some weeds you might be able to pitch holes in the weeds, some you might have to bomb to bust through the canopy, other times you might have to work a little more to shake it through.
  6. I haven't poured any in awhile but I believe the hook goes in first. Did you buy the suggested hook? Mustad has two similar looking flat eye, 60* hook but one is too thick to fit that mold.
  7. "Bass fishing for trout", is a frequently used term to describe using a Ned rig to purposefully target stocked trout in the local lakes around here. It isn't the best numbers technique, but it does well to target larger fish.
  8. We had a conversation about puppymonkeybaby at work, mainly, what was the pitch guy who came up with that smoking when he thought it up?? I kept waiting for the punchline while it was on tv, and it never happened.
  9. I ended up deleting a bunch of white bass videos and shortening some of the cast/fights down, and it's still almost 25 minutes long
  10. The Zman Finesse worm with about an inch cut off is a great Ned Rig bait. It was my second best option last year behind the traditional TRD/Zinker option.
  11. If someone is a bad mooch, I'll usually make sure to tell them well in advance that money is tight and I need gas money or tell them I'll get the gas if they buy lunch, no excuses for it then. As for being late, tell him a time 30 minutes earlier than you're planning on going. The other option is to man up and tell him that he needs to be more responsible and start showing up on time and at least buying his own lunch or you'll stop inviting him. Sounds like the young man might need to hear something like that so maybe he can realize he needs to take some ownership.
  12. I have the same bait, but I have caught some nice fish on it. I was fishing it at a friend's pond once and his dad was poking fun at me because it was "too big". He had just asked "What are you fishing, a beer can?" when a 5 pounder came unhinged on the bait and scared all of us with the viciousness of the explosion. He didn't have anything else to say after I took my pictures and turned the fish loose.
  13. I like the bulk of the bigger bait. I don't use the GYB though, instead I use the YUM swimming Dinger. A regular 5" stick worm trimmed down an inch or so is a good bladed jig trailer also. It's a good subtle trailer for colder water.
  14. Me too, but I suck at drop shotting so take that for what it's worth.
  15. Not durable at all, but their softness is what makes them swim so good and work so well. They're about on par with the GYB Senko in durability. I've used the Easy Shiner but didn't like them nearly as well. I'm going to try the BPS Speed Shad since they will be on sale next week and look similar to the Keitechs. Approaching with caution since the Havoc Beat Shad also looks like a Keitech and were very underwhelming.
  16. My last boat was a 1652 VPT Lowe Roughneck. Wasn't fancy, but I caught a ton of fish out of it.
  17. Something else going on here, you shouldn't just be breaking braid left and right.
  18. Both models of the Supreme are rated for saltwater. I really like the Supreme XT, but if you don't think you need it, you probably don't need it.
  19. I have yet to own a Pfluegar reel I didn't like. I have the Supreme XT baitcasting reel and really like it.
  20. You can, but I'd go with 15-20 to handle the impact of setting the hook. Heavy braid that's normally used isn't just for the heavy cover, it's for pushing 1 or 2 large hooks through a potentially very hard part of a bass' mouth. I don't fish them in real heavy cover either and still use 50lb braid.
  21. Keitech Swing Impact, are there any others?? The Zman Diesel MinnowZ was actually really good for me last year too and didn't hurt so bad to use as the Keitechs.
  22. I don't fish big lakes so I'd go with the DI.
  23. I don't normally, but one of the best days for numbers of fish I ever had we had music playing all day.
  24. I have used it and done very well. Try a regular stright stick worm too. Something about it is a killer bladed jig trailer.
  25. Kind of like the Northland Whistler jig but a prop on the front instead of behind the head. I'm sure it will work.
