Has anyone here made their own jitterbug? If so post them up I have been thinking about making my own because these new ones are junk compared to how they used make them.

Did you read all the responses that said do not introduce new species? Also what you speak of is not considered structure it is cover. Stucture would be humps, dropoffs, creek bottoms, etc. you cant really add structure

mmmmm... i dont think so lol a 2 pounder fighting as hard as a 5?ive never noticed really a difference between them,although i havent caught many smallmouth. The largemouth we have out here fight excellently,especially the ones in the delta because they have to fight current. I think that yes smallies can be more acrobatic,and they use more tail movement,but i think largemouths have more pull. I just think a 2 pounder compared to a 5 pounder is a little too much,but maybe its different in other places and i also havent caught many smallmouth. Sorry if i might be being biased because largemouth is my favorite lol. But the fish over here fight extremely well, i think Please smallmouth fanatics dont chew the crap out of me for my opinion lol without a doubt pound for pound small mouth fight harder than largemouth. I love fishing for both, but the I think the main difference is the fighting style a lot of times largemouth will swim up making the easier to bring in, but the majority of smallies I have caught will dive and dive especially when they get close to the boat. Now if it is 2 to 5? not too sure about that but 3 to 5? I think thats a fair comparison.

He is not trying to earn a merit badge. This would be an eagle scout project so he has to do some kind of service project. So that research might help figure out what needs improvement but in end he is going need to actually do some type of improvement.

Best bang for buck brands for me would be netbait and zoom with their 20 packs. I have never really bothered with the absolute bottom shelf brands i.e. generic walmart type stuff oh and bandit crankbaits

gorilla glue expands when drying so if you use it be sure you use very small amounts. 5 minute epoxy does not expand so you dont have to worry about it wicking or expanding down the fibers.

removing dinks and releasing the fish 14-16 inches and over when fishing is a proven method to increase the quality of bass in a pond. Usually what happens is the food competition is too high so bass cant reach their full genetic growth potential. I have a pond in my backyard that has the same problem, my goal this season is to toss all the dinks into the river beside the pond because I have been catching bass with huge heads the size of 5-6 lb largemouth, but their bodies are so emaciate they only weigh 2-4. I think in my case the pond has too many bass because when the river floods it dumps a ton of bass in the pond, and when the river recedes the fish are stuck there.

in clear calm water during the summer heat when looking for size over quantity I have had the most luck with a rapala skitterwalk in bluegill. I caught a whole bunch of 2-4 pounders that came up from the depths to nail it. Other than that I really like dark natural colored 4" senkos

so since you have 40,000 times more gear than I do, does that mean you catch 40,000 times more fish? haha just kidding but that does seem pretty darn excessive. I think I am going to have to send those pics to my girlfriend so she stop thinking I spend too much on tackle.

I dont know, that sounds really shady. Is it possible somebody was messing with you? Because you lost one reel, and by coincidence it turned up in a random box with another lost reel? It really sounds like somebody moved them around without telling you, or your wife felt obligated to clean up/hide your gear. My mom does it all the time only problem is she completely forgets where she puts my stuff

bass pro double sided worm binder with fifteen pages in each side. I had to buy four extra sets of pages but its crazy how much you can back into them. Also has nice little clear pockets inside that fit packets of worms hooks perfectly.

huh? You havent described a pattern just an instance in which you got one bite...which from what it sounds like that might not have even been a bite at all. So without more information there is no pattern.
