  1. I fish a pond like that in my backyard almost everyday. I can almost guarantee that pond is holding some pretty nice bass. If the food competition is tough just about anything will work if you can keep it out of the weeds. I do have trouble getting them to hit shad imitating crank baits, minnow cranks seem to work better. I would say you try some: plastic craws (baby pacas) in green or brown t-rigged and weightless just dead stick it and look for the line to take off. If those dont work try it with a senko or trick worm. I have caught some 3 and 4 pounders on bright green and gold flake senkos. But seriously try just about anything..I caught my PB in a pond like that on a purple buzz bait that I couldnt catch anything on.

I use the 20 dollar berkley scale as well. It has worked well for me, but I also like the sound of that lip grabber bc that hook can be annoying.
  3. Welcome! Do you ever get to the shore to fish for striper in the surf and back bays?
  4. I have been prowling around on this great resource for a while now, finally decided to join in on it all. I fish in western and eastern PA, sometimes up in Lake Winnipesaukee, and occasionally on the jersey shore for striper. I have been teaching myself for way too long so I am looking forward to learning from you guys.
  5. Erie huh? I might have to make the trip up from Grove City to see if I can get in on that action. Nice Fish!
  6. X2 that is a great looking fish
  7. What do you usually use to catch trout in the fall? I have been throwing small floating rapalas in the rainbow pattern, white clowser minnows and, little silver mepps spinners with no luck at all. How fast was the water moving where you caught that monster?
