  1. When bank fishing I use my army issued assault pack. Gotta love a job that issues you free outdoor gear! Awesome rain and cold weather gear too!
  2. ALRIGHT OREGON STATE!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D can't WAIT to see the new AP poll, all SEC teams in the top 3!
  3. I have found that a spotlight and a 3 prong gig work quite well ;D Man I miss salt water...
  4. I JUST looked up my capacity with my dealer installed tow package is 5,000lbs. Wouldn't a 17 or 18ft fiberglass rig be ok with a 5,000lb capacity? I want the glass but am worried I may be limited to aluminum due to my vehicle > Don't worry Ron, I'm gonna have all kindsa pics of my new ride when I get it, be it aluminum or glass, I assure you of that! ;D
  5. I saw a topic recently that got me thinking. I am getting my first boat when I get back from here and I was wondering what my Jeep could handle. I've got a V6 Jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4, automatic tranny, with a class 3 reese hitch. With this set up what do you guys think is the most I would be able to safely tow? I have towed an 18ft aluminum bass tracker fully loaded no problems but I am wanting to buy a fiberglass bass boat. Thanks in advance for ya'lls input!
  6. Avid beat me to it...Apply beer and you will think more openly and you will surely have success. Try a senko in a natural color with fluorocarbon line while you're at it. My .02
  7. I've got a spot in FL that I'm gonna hit while I am on leave in Feb (ish) that has submergent grass about 1ft. below the surface. I figured this bait would slay 'em over that stuff.
  8. Nice one! Gotta love catching 'em on top!!!
  9. Way to go Ron. I gotta step up my jig game when I get back...it's about the only lure I don't don't have much confidence with.
  10. You're all wrong...I caught that beauty back in Florida in '01. Idunno how the pic got out, I was trying to keep it a secret. ;D
  11. Wow...so I guess NOBODY has used an RC Wake???
  12. About 1/3rd of the bass I caught on leave was on a cavitron (black with red blade)...ya'll saw the pics. LOVE 'EM!!!
  13. I bought one in copper shad before I left to come back over here but didn't get a chance to use it. Anybody on here ever throw one? I love the RC 1.5 crank and I thought the wake looked pretty sweet so I picked one up while I was in Nashville.
  14. Thanks for the tip Russ, I'll be sure to bring my kevlar with me! ;D
  15. Well guys, I had fun on leave. I'm back over here now for about 4 more months, so it should go by pretty quickly. I had a couple of VERY nice outings on Kentucky Lake and had a fun trip with my oldest daughter (6) and got her on some bream. It was great to be with the family again if only for 18 days. Ron, I got your package too by the way, thanks alot!! Well, I look forward to talkin to ya'll on here and I'll see ya'll in KY next year!!!
  16. I ain't goin to WLC as SOON as I get back but it will be soon. Probably after block leave some time I imagine. I've been in long enough to know about the schools trust me. Anyhow, dinner's callin...I just grilled some burgers. Got my last drink o' rum n' coke for the next 4 months and I'm enjoyin my family. It's been a good one. My new baby daughter loves me to death and I got a good outing on the water with my 6 yr. old too while I was here. Can't wait to see ya'll in April on Kentucky Lake!!!
  17. I have been out to that spot many times and I have never seen a snake Shannon, so you'll be fine I promise. I look forward to getting back home again in a few months and I also look forward to seeing ya'll in '09 on Kentucky Lake for the road trip. You can bet I'll be there! I can't wait!
  18. Well guys, I went out to the same spot I took pics of before for one last trip before I head back over on Saturday. The lake was white capping and it was supposed to storm so I was afraid that I was gonna have trouble in the shallows. Well it never stormed, and I flat wore them out! I caught between 15-20 fish in a 4 hour time frame, all but one on a cavitron buzzbait. I had probably a 2 pound average with all of them too, a couple a little better and a couple dinks mixed in too. Like a genius I left my hardbait box at home, and I really woulda loved to have been throwin a spinnerbait, but I did pretty well. I didn't take the camera cuz I was farther out in the water and it probably would have gotten wet. You guys that fish Kentucky lake need to hit them bays up in the grass when the sun is just rising. They're schooling big time!!! It was a pretty awesome trip to end my leave on, and I had a lotta fun. About 4 months and I'll be on 'em again...they need a break here and there ya know ;D Sorry I ain't got no pics of this trip but I figured I report anyway.
  19. Real funny Bryan...who introduced you to the senko?? lol! Well dude, unfortunately I'll be seein you soon. I head out Saturday to come back. E-Mail me back dude. I was thinkin bout e-mailin SFC Cagle to ask if Sgt. Shafer could get a one day leave extension to watch the Florida-Tennessee game. Think he'd go for it? ;D
  20. Yeah Simp the water is awesome in the summer time once it gets hot out. Only bad thing on Kentucky lake are all the d**n biting flies up in the grass and shoreline. Ron, you'll always have a seat on my boat (when I get it), and I'm pretty sure Shannon would feel the same with his.
  21. Yeah that smallie was kinda greenish. It was a smallmouth though...wish I woulda got another pic at a different angle. (I know my fish dude, I've been doin this for a little while) Yeah, Ron, I took my oldest daughter out the 3rd day that I was home, but I gotta find the cord for the digital and I will post a couple of her. And yeah it is a cavitron, black with a red blade. I love that buzzbait!
  22. Here's my brother-in-law Justin. He said this was the most fun he has ever had fishing!
  23. Here's one in response to the post earlier that someone did about kissing their fish...Here's my answer ;D
