  1. The worm in the link is the manns hardnose worm. The zoom g-tail is 6 inches long and looks like it has a larger tail than the 4 inch berkley power worm.
  2. This worm is new for 2007. The Zoom G-Tail looks like a Manns hardnose worm, but the body is square on the sides. Has anyone used a worm like this?. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.SceneSeven?hvarTextId=74291&hvarSourceName=images2/91500/91803h.jpg&hvarType=0&hvarLinkEnabled=false
  3. Well said Avid. Contrary to what many dog lovers will tell you, a pitbull is more dangerous than a beagle.

Just wondering if anyone has fished this worm. I like swimming worms and big grubs in shallow rivers and this worm looks like a winner. Is a square body worm good for swimming or would the Zoom original speed worm be better?.
  5. RSBreth, How stable is your canoe and how does it handle larger people. I was looking at that canoe, but it looks kind of narrow.
  6. The water levels on a river I fish for smallies have dropped quite a bit and the fish have moved from thier normal spring and summer time spots. Where do you find the smallies in these conditions?. Do you look for the deeper pockets and any remaining current?. Also, it is a smaller river so a deep spot might be only 5 or 6 feet deep. Is this deep enough to hold smallies in colder weather (Wisconsin)?.
  7. Try seeing if parts from a Force engine are compatible. I believe Chrysler made this engine.
  8. Most people who fish muskie leave the fish in the net during hook removal and several minutes after that to let the fish recover, and upon release they hold the tail until the fish can swim away under its own power. Hopefully this helps lower the mortality rate.
  9. Lund and Princecraft are great aluminum boats, far superior to a Tracker IMO.
  10. My father got me interested in fishing using live bait.
  11. A sharp knife will cut the head off in a few seconds.
  12. AMEN I had this very talk with all my kids. (All of us should before PETA dose) my oldest seen a stray cat eating road kill. She was mad at the cat. I explaned to her and my youngest two thats how the world works. Animals are animals and thats what they do . Its not wrong and that animals have no real sence of life and death love or hate. Just eat, survive and reperduce. I hate PETA like most sportsman do, but why do dogs wag their tail and go crazy when they see their owner if they can not feel joy or happiness?
  13. I never thought I would say this, AMEN Jim!
  14. http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/caer/ce/news/rbnews/BreakingNews_Lookup.asp?id=269 Sorry about beating this topic to death, but I thought this was an interesting article. I wonder how PETA would handle this problem? PETA wants to sterilize white tail deer to control the population, maybe bass are next. Catch and eat seems more natural to me. If bass tasted as good as walleye we wouldn't have this problem.
  15. http://www.lacrossetribune.com/articles/2006/07/22/news/00lead.txt Any ideas of what caused this?
  16. Also look at how well the patent was written and who wrote it. A poor patent isn't worth the paper it is written on. If the patent has any faults a well funded company can steal the idea and your only recourse is to spend a ton of money with little chance of winning the case. If the patent is worth soo much why are they selling it in a local newspaper?
  17. Fish Chris, What actions have the California department of natural resources (not sure what they are called) done to address this problem?.
  18. I wish you had the option "Stupid" in your poll question. That was the first thing I thought when I seen the ad. The only berkley products I use are power worms and grubs. I have never used Gulp and do not plan on using it. For every person that likes Gulp at least 2 or 3 dislike it. And a couple of naked men are not going to change my mind. If Salma Hayek was in the ad naked, I might change my mind. Am I a hipacrite? Absolutely.
  19. A few lakes in northern Wisconsin have done away with size limits on bass and encourage people to keep the small ones. Stunted growth rates and adverse effects to other game fish from over population are the reasons given by the DNR.
  20. I have also read that any toxins present in the water are at higher levels in big fish. They have more years of exposure to these pollutants.
  21. I had to contact strike king once about a quality issue with thier spinner baits. Like most customer service departments the initial contact person offers very little in the way of service. To my surprise once the info was sent up the chain I received great customer service from strike king. I think the person you are dealing with also helped with my issue. To me customer service is only second to product quality, unless the service is severely lacking. If all else fails start calling the sales department and complaining to them. If they transfer you, hang-up and call back until the problem is resolved. I would give them one more chance before using this tactic, but if all else fails.

The experience I have with people fishing docks comes from time spent fishing and drinking at a friends boat house along the mississippi river shoreline. The only time people fish the dock area of the boat house is when no one is using it. If someone is using the dock area the fishermen respectfully drive by without making a cast. And I have never heard anyone complain about hooks on thier boat house. Respect needs to be given by both parties. However, it sounds like Avid is dealing with a jerk.
  23. I can not believe the poor customer service I got when I made a call to In-Fisherman magazine about a subscription. The only thing I received were rude answers or no answer at all. I guess this is a common business practice, but they will not be getting my business. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this with In-Fisherman, and any suggestions on another fresh water fishing magazine would be welcome.

GobbleDog, attitudes like that will cause violence. I have been on both sides of the issue and have found that a polite disscussion will resolve most disagreements.
  25. Also, have a look at paddling.net . Alot of reviews and a message board with a ton of info on fishing from kayaks.
