  1. But lead can cause cancer also.... Clancy W
  2. Seen this also. Heard Strike King was looking very closely at buying them out. Since they are going under I reallyope they do. Might be some sexy shad colored weights now lol. Clancy W
  3. Yes, whats wrong with a senko? If the fish get lock jaw somethimes it takes a senko to pry them open. Wackey rigged senkos thrown at the base of reeds or whatever you call them can be a deadly summer tactic. Clancy W
  4. No snow/ice. But a major cold front just put central Texas into the 20's. I'm sure some of the upper state could get snow. Not sure tho. Clancy W
  5. ***....big color selection. Hold up nice. Catch fish. CHEAP. 6$ for a 25 pack. http://*.com/trickstick great service. If he over charges you he sends extra baits to cover the cost. Clancy W
  6. If I regulary fished travel tournaments, I would install a alarm system on my boat. Hook it up to some big sirens and lights, that will stop them. Or atleast let someone get to them first. Clancy W
  7. Cranks Jigs Terminal/Some Top Water Spinnerbaits Stickbaits Rattlesnakes Flukes Craws Creatures Finess Curly Tail Worms Zoom Finess/Magnum Finess, one in each of my best colors More finess worms Mis. creatures Big worms (10in strait tails, 7in senkos) Some swimbaits I recently picked up, going to learn how to fish them. Clancy W
  8. Ok yall, was at my academy today and they had the H20 swimbates in sale for 3$. They only had one left and it was a 4.5in jointed swimbait in a sexy shad color. What line would yall recomend? Should I throw it on some 30lb braid? Or mono? Or do I need to re-stock on some fluro again? I plan on fishing weed lines and over the top of reeds with it so im sort of leaning towards braid so I can rip it out of grass. Clancy W
  9. I will! Should be killer in discharges of powerplant lakes when the fish are schooling chasing shad. Clancy W
  10. Thanks everyone, will be putting all this in use. Stripes, a jig mimics a crawdad. Clancy W
  11. http://www.***.com/MegaBait_Charlie_Swimbaits/descpage-MBC4C.html#multiview anyone have any experience with these? Clancy W
  12. Well the main lake I was going to throw these at is known fr a average sized fish of 3-4lbs avg. So maybe I should look into buying one of the larger swimbaits? However most swimbaits look like trout which we don't have. Maybe a big swimbait that looks like a shad. Clancy W
  13. Had the frog togs on so was completly dry lol. Clancy W
  14. Thanks for the tips guys! I think that I may order some of these. http://www.***.com/Sebile_Magic_Swimmer_Soft_Pro/descpage-SMSS.html in the 130 version. Seems like a good post/pre spawn bait when the big females are moving up shallow to start spawning. Clancy W
  15. I know lots of yall fish swimbaits, however I have never really fished them and never had any luck on them, I do know that they can produce BIG fish. So I have some soft bodied swimbaits and am going to get some jig heads for them. My question is how do I fish them? Do I fish them over grass? Along grass lines? Drop offs? What is ideal line? Will 15lb segar red lable work? Rods? Reels? I looked in the "Best of" and couldnt find one on swimbait fishing. Thanks, Clancy W
  16. What if instead of removing the back hook on one you tied to what the swivel is attached to? That way the first bait still has its back hook, because I seem to catch most of my popper fish on the back hooks. Clancy W
  17. Fished our Club T on Saturday....not so good. We managed 6 keepers and had just under 10lbs. Did catch my first 3 fish of 2011 tho. So I gues that its a good sign since none were dinks. Lol. Rained ALL day and was below 40 degrees till about 1-130. Winning weight was 30 something. Fish apparrently turned on in the disharge late in the day. Clancy W
  18. Odd idea came to me...what if you tied two poppers onto a 3-way swivel? Make each one a diffrent length from the swivel. The only problem I can see is that they might tangle each other up in the cast. But it could be pretty good on schooling fish. Any thoughts? Clancy W
  19. Well we have the share-Lunker program. Catch a bass at least 13lbs between October and April and call it into Texas Parks and Wildlife. They will pick it up and use it for breeding and then release it back where it came from. I think that you get a free replica of the fish made. Not sure how long its been going on but this last year we broke the 500 fish mark. Don't think the programs more than 20 or 30 years old if that. Clancy W -EDIT- Program started in 1986, so 25 years and 504 fish cought i think. 33 this year. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/sharelunker/history/
  20. I use mine on a SR senko/toad rod and is my main worm rod. Clancy W
  21. You meant to say "it ruined rap even more" didn't you? : Is that possible??? Clancy W
  22. Would have to agree here. Your thery dosent work for the same reason that grass is green(no pun intended) and the sky is blue. Clancy W
  23. No prob, you just have to find equipment that works for you. Clancy W
  24. I love it. VERY light combo. The rod has a nice tip and a pretty good backbone. I use it for flukes almost only but if i needed to throw a DS or a Shakeyhead i could on it. I like throwing flukes on a weighted hook b/c I think that it gives them more action. It seems that the micro guides do add some distance you can cast. Clancy W
