  1. Last few months, I have been looking at academy website for H2O XPRESS (Academy brand) sales. So far, I have not seen any this year yet ...did I miss the boat and have to wait until next year?
  2. Where would you get those ? I m looking upgrade mine as well.
  3. Since I have the 803C and 873CCR with Shimano Core 50MG7. Small profile and easy to palm on the rod/reel is why I went that direction. Aldebaran MGL 50 is my recommendation
  4. Now - That is not a bad idea. I would need to check if my DSG has jack hammer. Majority of mine is the Z-Man Custom from TW.
  5. Guess no one knows ...might have to ask the other forum.
  6. Falkus replied to The Bassman's topic in Fishing Tackle
Love Fat Ika - did very well for first time during my trip up in Lake Oneida. I was just killing them. They are part of my core plastic.
  7. Got two of those, It's a beauty !
  8. I had the same problem with one of my favorite skipping rod. I went to three different ones and they said that they couldn't do it. So I asked on this forum and based on recommendation. I went to see this rod builder that lived an hour away and said after looking at it for 2 mins. "New Nut and some guides will need to be taken off, no problem. See me next week" One week later, got it back and tested it out, ISSUE is resolved - SCORE !
  9. 90% of my lines are hybrid (8 to 12 lbs)
  10. Hope you guys can help out. I saw a link that someone posted of the "jackhammer alternative". I liked that design but I couldnt find the link for it. If not, what are my other options are? I like to get something that has open eye so that i can put the blade in and close it.
  11. Update: Just tried the heat tube from harbor fright and it was kinda of "weak". I think I wasted 5 bucks on that. Instead, I tried yo-zuri hydrid which worked way better and feels snugged. I am going to test that out tomorrow evening if the weather is good. Thanks guys
  12. Did the same thing when I first started with lower ends. End up upgrading all of them to Gloomis (NRX for bottom contact), Dobyns and St Croix. I would spend more money on the rods (60% or more) vs reel (40% or less).
  13. I have used those terms to my fishing buddies based on their size: Squeaker, Torpedo, Toad, Holy Molly, Drag-Puller & "The Fat Girl"
  14. Those guys just have no remorse. One of those 114 bass could have been a world/state record if she lived to the fullest. but she was taken too early EDIT: I was being sarcastic about the "world record" but you guys get my drift.
  15. When I tried the double fluke the first time It became the personal best at that lake until I broke it last year with 6.9lbs. From my facebook page ------------------------------------------- Caught him today at 8:19am on Aug 2, 2014 Personal Best for that lake Lure - Double Fluke Rig Setup - Zoom Salty Super Fluke ( Color - Bluegill Flash)
  16. Just got back from Harbor Fright to get some heat tubes - In a few days, I will attempt to try one or two to see how it looks.
  17. Dock Rockers from Siebert is what I am gotta get when I need more. Since I have several of those arky that I got ages ago. This might be a fun project, do you guys think this will work? or should I just grab a thick paper clips and wrap it up along with super glue.
  18. Skipping Guru, The last three months, I have been practicing skipping which I am getting good at with my baitcaster for dock/trees My issue is that the trailers would slip out or whatever when I fowl or dont get a good glide. How do you guys make it stay - any tip that i should do or use.
  19. Broke my DC 734 on hook set. Called them to make sure that what I am seeing on the picture is exactly waht they want. so Just make sure you include the "DC XXX XX" For the upgrading to another level, give them a call. My advice: include memo if this will be the same model or whatever and check inside in the package. It will save time that you are not getting the "wrong one" otherwise they will send you what they see on the cutout rod. http://dobynsrods.com/warranty/
  20. Was just reading about that --- now I gotta make some order in
