  12. Has anyone ever just went out with all their tackle and just relied solely on instincts, what felt right, and your gut feelings? Did it work? I'm considering trying it. Typically, when I go to the lakes or the acre ponds by my house, I carry a little zip-loc bag full of the lures I want to use, but I think its hurting me, but, I'm not sure how... Anyone have any idea?
  13. I had a club tournament yesterday on a deep clear lake and caught 3 bass, one was 16.5 inches, one was 15.75 inches, and one was 14 inches and had 6.5 pounds and finished in 6th place (out of 12 co-anglers). I threw a slider head with various plastics ALL DAY, I never threw anything else. I had the 15.5 incher within 10 minutes and actually caught it as we were motoring off from the launch (it's a trolling motor lake) within the first 10 minutes on a BPS 3" Stik-O on a spider slider head. It was a absolute Grind though. I caught those three by 10:50, and only caught a non keeper in the last 20 minutes the rest of the day. There was only one limit caught on the co-angler side, and that person won. I did break off what would have been my second fish of the morning. I had it right at the boat and could CLEARLY see it in the crystal clear deep water and my boater was right there with the net and SNAP! The line broke, me and my boater estimate it to be 14-15 inches ( It was a paper tournament). If I would of landed the fish I probably would of made a check (Top 3 get paid). My boater had 6.1, he had a 13 incher, a 17 incher, a 14 incher. He caught his swimming a jig and with slider heads. We fished really deep all day long, we tried shallow at the end of the day, and thats when I caught my non keeper. I went into this tournament just with a little bag of variou plastics and a bag of slider heads, and 2 spinning rods. It hit 103 degrees and the water temp was at 92 degrees.
  14. Well, I went out yesterday to my tournament and didnt't catch a limit, but went into it calm and relaxed and caught 3 bass ( a 16.5 incher, a 15.25, and a 14 inch bass, it was a paper tournament) I had 6 pounds, 8 ounces and finished 6th (out of 12 co-anglers)

  18. Hi everyone, I'm going to see my grandparents this weekend up in Western PA, and they live 15 minutes from the East Branch Dam, a coldwater fishery with smallmouth. I have never caught a smallmouth before IN MY LIFE, I haven't even hooked one. I will be doing some Canoeing with my mom at the Dam and plan on fishing on one of our outings, we are there for 6 days. What lures would you guys reccomend? Like I said its a Cold water fishery with Crystal clear water, docks, and rocks, and a Dam. Here is a Map of it: http://maps.google.c....ed=0CD4Q_AUoAg And here's a video I found of it: And here's an article about it: http://en.wikipedia.....ion_River_Lake I leave this saturday
