When To Use A Jig Vs. A Creature Bait?
When do you know when to use a jig vs. a soft plastic texas rigged creature bait like a Zoom Brush Hog or a Beaver-style bait? I've used both, and both seem to produce, but when do you choose one over another?

Best Topwater Snake?
I'm looking to give topwater snakes a try. I've seen some small norther watersnakes swimming across local ponds and it has inspired me to give these a shot. I'm currently considering buying some Mann's Hardnose Floating Snakes. Anyone have any experience with these?

Giving A Frog A Haircut
On spro frogs the legs come a little long. Sometimes a fish will come up and hit the frog, but they'll just grab onto one of the legs and not get the body in it's mouth. By trimming the legs down you create a more compact lure, and the bass will hit the body of the frog instead of going after legs. I trim off about an inch or so. You want some dangle left, just not as much.

Texas Or Carolina Rig Or No Weight
This may be a newbie question, but can someone explain/illustrate the slip-shot rig and the mojo rig? I am also presented with a lot of undergrowth in one of the small lakes I fish.

What Trolling Motor To Use For A 16' Jon?
I plan on purchasing a friends 1970's 16ft. Lund jon boat in the next couple of weeks. The boat is a modified v font. I plan on using it mostly in small, electric motor only lakes. The main lake I will be fishings is about 50-55 acres. I don't plan on purchasing an outboard. May add one someday down the road, but college is keeping me on a tight budget. I want to add a casting deck, some storage, and a trolling motor to the boat. I'm going to try to keep weight down as much as possible. We will almost always be fishing 2 people off the boat. I guess my question is should I get a transom mount trolling motor or a bow mounted trolling motor? Also, what kind of power should I be looking for? I wanna keep the cost down, but still be able to prowl around small ponds and lakes.

Montana?
Anyone ever been to/lived in Montana? I'm taking a trip up there this summer for about 12 days and I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for things to do and places to see. I really enjoy the outdoors. I won't be able to take my mountain bike with me this time :'( but I'll be packing a few fishing rods. In enjoy a good hike and good scenery. I really anything that can get me off the beaten path a little bit. I like to explore, not just do all the stuff that any other tourist would do. I also really enjoy some good BBQ, so if anyone could point me in the direction of some tasty food I'd appreciate it! We'll be staying near Glacier National Park and we will be making a trip to Yellow stone. Also, if anyone has suggestions for places to go in Utah that would also be appreciated.

Good digital scale?
I was considering using a bag to weigh fish. Seems like it would be easier on them. Maybe taking the weigh bag and getting it wet, putting it on the scale and zero-ing it out, then putting the fish in to weigh. Can you zero the BPS scales?

How old are you?
College student, 20.

Good digital scale?
What is a good digital scale under for under $40? I'd prefer to buy it at BPS due to me having several gift cards. Also, when you weigh a fish with a scale with a hook on the end do you stick the hook through the fishes lip and hang it there, or do you put a weigh bag on the scale and zero it out then put the fish in the bag?
