Look up the comments on midway USA or any retail store on some of the 6mm bullets people use them on bear elk u name it is all bout placement. The federal vital shocks seem to have the best DRT reviews. It's not a 6mm an iv made posts I think on here about them but .223/5.56 and deer iv been doing alot of research on them and found hundreds of reviews of people DRT deer with 75+gr .223 bullets. It's still small for me I don't wanna do it but it's another example u don't need no .280 for a deer no mater what size. And iv seen 200lb deer droped with a .22lr numerous times with farmer nuisance permits.
  7. Iv been trying I'm still having a hard time doing it threw my iPhone service is to slow here and it won't let me upload and copy the link it's getting very frustrating
  8. All seems good now she's been sending pics of the dog and Noah their like poster children for mans best friend hubba is always by Noahs side sitting down watching every move he makes or tv with him while Noah has his arm around him.
  9. Gas cost will be less the 200 if the van gets at least 25mpg that's 48 gallons of gas to get home
  10. It's 1200 miles and the van was 180
  11. She brought it home today she said it nipped at Noah once when he first got there but it didn't phase Noah on bit she said he loves the dog and won't leave him alone. She said the dog walks on a leash good and wags his tail when ever approached im sure te nip wa probably Noah being a typical 3year old pulling it's tail.
  12. We got it figured out 4hr shifts regardless of how well you claim u did 10hr convoys non stop in Afghanistan. Every 4 hours we will stop stretch rotate and go cuz let's face it 6 guys in a mini van plus a bag each it's gonna be packed. I originally thought we were going with 7 but it's 6.

I shoot a 58gr vmax outa my .243 and it does fairly good damage depending on where u hit it.
  14. Well our leave dates are set in stone so to speak. Im not getting a plane home I'm driving the 20hrs. 7 of us rented a van and are splittin the cost to go home. 20hrs seems alot but it's no headaches an we will beat te people flying home home anyways. Here are the reasons Leave is at 1800(6pm)Friday but there is no trans till midnight Friday so we get a 6hr jump on them right there the airport is 2.5 hrs away Avis is 8 blocks down the road we will walk to get the van. There's another 2.5 hrs added in our favor by the time everyone else is getting to the airport we will be almost half home. The soonest flight didn't leave till 6:25 in the morning and they all had layovers in either Atlanta or houston and wouldent be in ny till 1235 at the earliest providing there are no delays. So not only am I cutting a huge expense because the van was 179 then gas were figuring a little over 200 at the most maybe more let's say 300 that's only 479 at the very worst then split 7 ways tickets were 412 a piece and in most the tickets left wernt getting home till late Saturday night. So now all I have to do is get a one way back arriving here in Mississippi no later then 11:59 the following Friday as long as my ticket is befor then I'm good. That's maximizing my time home with the kids and warm bed with a wife in it. I'll get 5 full days home. Maybe I'll get some fishing in well I'm home as well.
  15. Chainsaws sound fun but also dangerous as hell. I'd like to see a ninja on the back of a boat flinging stars at them that would be cool very Hollywood but very bad arse. Or a samari sword I mean they are asian carp afterall
  16. If restoring marble is anything like polishing granite/marble/limestone I can see why you love it. I did it for a year befor leaving for the army and honestly its my only job iv had beside vein a paintball ref that I honestly loved. It wa back breaking work that stuff got heavy but I loved driving an hour to work to cut, polish, fit, install, repair custom countertops or fire places even a few floors and walls all custom granite/marble/limestone. I went to work there after basic and well I was gone they company dived it was just the 2 brothers and their wifes working there all there pollsters and installers were let go because business slowed and people couldn't afford the fancy expensive countertops.
  17. We had an awesome pit back when me and te wife dated. It was hers when we dated Her ex got it for her and she kept it it was the nicest dog you would ever meet gorgous dog her name was jade. I had pics of my cocker spaniel at the time walking the pit he would have her collar in his mouth walking her down by the lake. She was killed though when her chain got tangled with another dog well we were away she got tangled and was strangled to death we haven't had a dog sense till now.
  18. My wife has been begging me for a dog for some years now. I finally caved just befor leaving for my deployment and got her and my sons a Scottish terrier puppy we named Jasper. My wife once I left got back on my case for a 2nd dog to keep the Scotty company and to be more of a guard/protective dog. She's hit every breed out there trying to get me to tell her to get one. I never told her no just to really think about what she's asking for 2 kids 2 dogs and our rabbit all by herself no help our boys are soon to be 3(may) and 7 months. Well tonight she told me she decided on a German Shepard from a close family friend who breeds them. I said ok love get what ever u want I'm not stoping you just take care of it. Well she then replied with well I already got it lol. She's adopting a 8mo old GSD with "pano" for $200. The dog comes from German bloodlines idk exactly I just know this lady usually gets over g for her pups and the parents come from Germany an only take German comands. I did some research this pano is just growing pains I guess inflammation of bones and try usually grow out of it. She goes Thursday to meet him and make sure he gets along with the kids and little dog. The breeder has kids the same age as us and a Pomeranian so the small dog and children shouldent be an issue. He's a pretty dog from the pics iv seen I like all animals big and small so I don't have a problem with her getting it. Iv just told her she better exercise him and Shea promised she will so time will tell. I just wish I wa home to help her an that the dog was younger or had a diffrent name lol his name is hubba.
  19. Were supposed to get it end of march but I'm flying home now I was told any one staying behind was gonna be on staff duty so I'm going home forget that crap I don't wanna do staff duty I'd rather go back to the cold buffalo weather and see my wife and catch up on some unfinished business............
  20. I love my sx I never adjust it unless I make a huge change in lures like for when I'm hiking and take 1 pole and switch from jig to crank I'll make a quick adjustment. Iv never back lashed other then when I do dumb stuff like snag my back pack behind me or hit te tree branch right infront of the canoe not paying attention. Them things can happen with any reel though.
  21. Another plus to the trades is most of our jobs are pretty secure there will always be cars to fix houses to wire ect. And it won't be out sourced like many other jobs out there xrays are being read by some tech over in India just like all electronics more then likely but your not gonna pack up your house or F350 and ship it some where to get fixed it's gonna be done here in the states by a blue collar worker.
  22. The school I'm a teachers aide at is primarily trades only. In my wing we have my class on the end diesel and ag mechanics, auto body, welding, automotive, precision machine and tool. Then on the other side is building trades, security and law, electricity and electronics. Then up front you have health occupations technicians, cosmetology, computer graphics, can't remember the name of the class but it's the computer programers, then food services. At the hospital we have a satellite class that's allied health which is what I took in high school I wanted to he a anesthesiologist till I realized college ain't for me especially that much. Trades are the way to go for many people in my mind. It was for me my high school councilor told me I'd never get into college so I joined the army to be a apache mechanic but backed out when I got accepted to baran institute(now lincoln tech) I went for autobody then changed to auto motive. In high school I was the goof never cared bout any thing was usually drunk or sneaking into the dark room with the ladies. Outa 49 graduating I was ranked 48 ony person below me was the handi caped kid that got sent to a alternative school. Don't get me wrong dont let that dead last fool you I scored 1200 something on my SATs a 92 on my ASVAB for the military I just didn't give a rats arse in school cuz I hated busy work but knew the material threw absorption of sleeping on the book in class lol. I went to tech school and graduated #1 with a 3.95gpa and 99% attendance. I was offered BMW steps, Volvo school, VW/Audi but turned them down to move home for my then gf and got picked up by nissan befor graduating. Even still now I'm looked down upon for being a mechanic but to others I'm a saint even here in the army now as an infantryman word gets out I wrench and now I'm the go to guy to fix all the trucks without bugging the army mechanics. It kinda sucks but it also gets me in with some brass when ya get there truck rolling because they might have there masters degree but still can't operate the simplest of tasks in a humvee. I hate seeing traded ticked on though cuz they think your lower then them cuz you work with your hands or what ever the case is that's the cause. But in reality with out us there beamers and Bentlys stay broke there fancy granite countertops wouldent exist(I did granite for 2 years) or there houses would be lit up with power way up on the hill away from everyone else. Also on te second side of that coin we wouldent have jobs if it wasn't for the desk jockeys making bank to employ us to fix or install there fancy stuff.
  23. Haha that's an awesom pic I'd be for a ny or ne get together once I'm back next year if it was an annual thing.
