Finally decided to get out of the army after 7.5 years. Just finished up my last drill/annual training other then going back to the armory and turning in my gear I am officially done. I had all intentions to do my 20 and retire out of the guard but things have gotten to soft and political in the army and my civilian life has finally gotten comfortable to the point I don't need this as an escape or extra money I'm actually loosing money on my long drills. Went out with a bang though with my final drill being a annual training prepping for JRTC. Was 17 days of force on force and I went full on Rambo lol we did our company defense the last three days and as a 240L gunner I'm normally on support by fire and not really moving a whole lot. That is till the Opfor took out all but 4 of my platoon and another platoon I heard my first sgt yell to rally the troops so I took my 240 out of the tripod slung around 200rnds around my arm and jumped out of my foxhole and went cyclic taking out the Opfor and linked up with a stud and started bounding with a 25lb machine gun. It was sweet other then it being blanks and miles gear. Everyone's been talking bout it. Then I shot off about 3000rnds on the live fire also and got to drop rounds in the 60 mortar tubes also which was a first for me. I'm definitely gonna miss it but im also sooooo glad to be getting out I'm gonna grow my beard and hair out for a year. Lots of great memories from it though.

Well they just canned the QC guy so I requested for his position since I'm the one who does all the finish work or repairs on when he rejects. I would go back to days but the pay increase would be sooooo worth it they started the last guy at 60k a year salary.

Haven't updated in a bit. It's almost done I've done the cross wrap 3 times now

Got this guy last night he wouldn't leave me be I kept trying to put him out side on the fence but he would land back on my arm then stay on my hand.

it's not the only thing keeping me there's some other things we are waiting to fall in place before we made the move like the baby being born and my gf has a settlement coming from a car accident a year ago she was hit by a drunk driver in a work vehicle for a major cable company. The plan was baby then settlement her lawyers said it will be soon as her doctors appointments and surgeries are all taken care of which are on hold due to the pregnancy. After that stuff we were gonna make the move.

I love the work I do even if it is dusty and I deal with a lot of chemicals but I like the type of work it's got different challenges every day. I've been looking into moving to Florida or Texas there seem to be a ton of fiberglass shops in Florida I've been looking into the same type of work just in different states. There are a ton of reasons I want to leave NY and I realize grass isn't always greener on the other side. My job is about the only thing going though. And yes raider money isn't everything and it can't buy happiness but like ya said it can buy hunting and fishing gear and that's the same thing. I have been working here for 18months and at the rate of these raises and the amounts I'll have doubled what I started at with this next raise if not definitely the next one if its only $0.50 the next two. It's been nice because I made ends meet before and they extra money I have been putting into extra payments on the house and car trying to rebuild my credit from the damage the ex wife did. Even while doing that I've been able to buy things I want while still supporting my family and getting ahead.

I've been talking to family and the exes family about packing my kids up and moving out of state to get the heck out of NY. Everything's been going pretty smooth about it other then my job. My work keeps throwing more and more money at me lol not that it's a bad thing but I'm finding it harder to justify leaving because I doubt I will move and find another job as good as this one and pay as well I've been getting a $.50-150 raise every 3 months just about. The owner came in yesterday said the company is doing great he's making money so he's passing it on to us so we can make more money to take care of the ones we love then hands us a $50 bill each and says he put another 100 in our checks and will be reviewing to give us yet another raise this week. I want to leave NY in the worst way but this place is making it hard to.

In one of my previous posts about cat fish with venison I mentioned my awesome home waters that is johnsons creek. This place has been my back yard, honey hole, drive 7hrs home from college to fish for a day spot. I have fished both above the dam and below it from the dam to Lake Ontario and above the dam to the first impassable log jam about 5 miles up. It offers just about everything here's some pics of fish over the years a little of everything my best friend is in a lot of the colder water species pics as he's big into trout and salmon. That's just a few I honestly have hundreds of pics of fish I have caught here. I've been fishing it for 28 years best part is not many people know about it most people focus on oak orchard which is a little bigger and about 5 minutes away.

It's a small creek in my home town I've been fishing it since birth pretty much my dad has pics of me 6months old with me in a stroller and a snoopy pole stuffed in there with me. It's maybe 30' wide at its widest part and the deepest hole which is there where these were caught is maybe 12' deep most of it is 4' or less mostly less you can wade the whole creek with a few exceptions at some of the bends it gets deep. My best friend owns a 2mile stretch of the creek some of the best salmon and trout fishing is in his stretch. I get a ton of northerns, smallies, carp, salmon, trout, bullhead and cat fish back there.

Took my boys fishing with my brother from another mother and a co worker. He had a freezer quit on him so he had a bunch of rotting deer meat. We took some back straps that STUNK! Chunked it up and threw it on a hook. After about two hours he hooked into this guy and let my oldest boy help reel it in. All in all it was a great day got the cat, several big bull head, a few suckers and bait stealing gobies on the kids rods. My youngest boy also got to experience loosing a sock in the woods also lol

I may be cold but sounds like it was fixed. Reminds me of one of them funny ecards. Said " I'm not saying lets kill all the stupid people, I'm dying the warning labels off and just let the problem sort itself out"

How bout the people behind me waiting for the fireworks with a two day old newborn!!!!! Mom and baby left the hospital today. Fine parenting right there fireworks start in a hour that baby better be gone or I may be going to get a trooper that's stationed by the school.

I don't even want to get started on this I've bit my tongue more then I care to today with the 4th celebration in my home town population 1200 any day but today we get around 10-15000 people for the 4th. That much stupid in one small town is ridiculous. Parents telling there kids to budge and skip lines being nasty to other kids in the bounce house area was making me sick. Then the kids with out parents. I wanted to punch little kids in the face but that's frowned upon lol. At least my kids behaved and waited in line like your supposed to and even helped others that couldn't make it threw some of the obstacles instead of pushing them out of the way. We left early though I couldn't take any more.
