Bill Dance Porcupine Fish Habitat
thats probably the most preferred way of making cover. It works really well and has been proven, so theres not much need to steer away from it, just make sure that if you do use Christmas tree's, you make some float while making some lay down just to add variety to cover, IMO that is when they work best. I saw a segment on BASScenter where the guy was sinking some Christmas trees.

lol yeah, but we both know how often you can go without being seen and still do a good job of placing them! I fish a lot of private water, so its no big deal whether someone sees me or not. Since I'm just a recreational fisherman, I fish a lot of ponds and I've never found one that couldn't use some cover put into it.

Fish Habitat Ideas Needed to Promote Vegetation
I think the idea you mentioned would work ceph, but I would change the fencing to chicken wire or some other sort of pretty small holes. You have to worry about turtles, too. They will go through a lot of vegetation just like carp will. If I were you, I would start by building a "PVC fence" using the PVC pipes and the chicken wire. If that doesn't work, maybe go to something more solid, like almost solid nylon netting instead of the chicken wire?

Should guides fish?
IMO, a true professional guide will put you on to the fish and "test the waters" just to stay ahead of the game and make it the most enjoyable experience possible for you. A hack will sit and fish like you're out fishing with your buddy and probably not offer much advice, or put you on to anything you might be missing. So I guess, yes a guide should fish, but not in the same way that you're fishing. They have to know whats going on under the water, and thats ever-changing, so theres only one way to find out what needs to be done to catch the fish.

I like the buckets...have plenty of concrete at my disposal. A way of creating a tree that I've heard before is to take a bucket, fill it with concrete, then stick one piece of 1/2" PVC pipe in it..let it set up. After that, take two liter bottles of soda, and cut them up each side all the way to the retainer ring. put a screw in the pvc pipe, then drop the split two liter bottle down on the pipe, then place a screw over top of it, although loosely. The bottles represent leaves, and they are allowed to move freely so it would be almost impossible to hang up on them.

I've thought about making them myself, but could never figure out a way to get a good center point for all the stems. Theres no such PVC ball with a bunch of holes in it that I'm aware of ..so any suggestions?

Re: question about the site
nah, no need for a router as I'm not on a network. A lot of people say that Norton is not that good, but I've had it for about two years and have had very minimal problems. Doesn't make much sense though that privacy control is the reason the images won't load on this site. Still can't figure that one out.

Well if its drawing panfish, theres bound to be a big buddy or 5 swimming nearby and waiting for a meal. It can never hurt so long as you don't have entirely too much cover. As the info suggests, I would think it'd do really well around boat docks, and in my case..a pond desperate for some kind of cover and habitat. I would wonder about how one would weight it, seems to be a bit ackward in that regard, but I say it would be just fine in a group of 2 or 3 in a little area.

Re: question about the site
with a little bit more playing, it has to do with the privacy control option of my firewall. Seems a rather odd thing to be effecting images.

Re: question about the site
turned the firewall off(Norton Internet Security) and everything shows up at normal on both Avant and IE. Wondering how I could possibly fix the firewall issue since there is no way I can surf with it disabled(cable internet). Anyway, my host provider is Adelphia.

Re: question about the site
Glenn, I have also used regular internet explorer and mozilla, but those also have the same problems. With Mozilla, text will show up i.e. new posts will have "new" written beside them but it will not be a button, just the word, which is clickable. I will clear the cache and then close and reopen and see if that helps.

Best Time to use Chartueuse
the three most popular colors in muddy water(look at it from a light penetration perspective, therefore the muddier the water, the darker it is, although not as dark as night) that I've ever been aware of are black, red, and chartreuse. These colors just simply work where others haven't. I am positive that it is entirely possible to catch a fish on white or some other color in muddy water, but those are surefire colors to use. Bass will still use visibility in muddy water, even if its for just a split second when they are 1 foot or 6 inches from a lure or food source. They will not blindly eat without knowing what it is they're trying to swallow. A fish is also never essentially "blind", they just have reduced range.

Best Time to use Chartueuse
I really like the effectiveness of chartreuse on cloudy days, low light days, or in highly stained to muddy water. I think its a really good color choice for spinnerbaits in any pond. I suppose chartreuse crankbaits could be a good choice, too. I try to avoid any firetiger patterns, but if I can find a good bait that has a simple chartreuse and black/blue/white/whatever color pattern, I'm confident it'll catch fish. I fished a chartreuse spinnerbait exclusively for about a month and a half (around 9 trips) at the end of this past season and never went a day without catching at least 3 fish.

Setting the hook???
anything on a dead line, I reel before setting the hook, then after I've pulled the fish out of its "home"..if that makes sense...and when I get bit with a moving bait, I stop cranking, set the hook and then try and get all the slack out of the line and fight the fish. No reelin for me during a set, and I never use hard sets, I think they're way too over-emphasized and unnecessary. I've missed fish, but its not because of a soft hookset, just didn't get the chance to set it at all..lol. My opinion is that these hard hooksets that some people try to do just pull the bait away from the fish...don't think you need anything more than a quick snap with anything other than a jig.

How about some barometer tips?
basser89 nailed it. A stable barometer will be good fishing, to an extent. High pressures, stable or not, have never been good for me. Low pressures always work well and also falling pressure. The little line I've always heard is High and rising=not good days(the phrase "not good" is relative), Low and falling = great fishing...steady= take your chances.

Fat Largemouth, spotted bass or hybrid???
the dark lines on the belly just scream spot, but the problem is that the second dorsal fin on a spot has scales at the base, and its hard to tell without actually being next to the fish. I think the scaling of the head though, combined with the dark markings, give it away as a spot..but whatever kinda bass it is, its a very nice catch and I'd love to have it hook onto the end of my line.

Bass Fishing Video Games
I've played rapala on the PC and the underwater cam whenever you're retrieving the bait is so confusing. Not only that but its hard to get the cranks to dive, no matter what I do..its basically a big ball of confusion for me after I cast. Anyway, pretty much anything i throw wants to stay on top, but if I do get it down, it seems like it goes under the bottom of the lake.just all around weird and confusing to me.

Bass with Weights in the Stomach
don't those berkley scales read in pounds and ounces, not tenths?
