  1. I don't know about the hand control models but the foot control if it had a switch on the foot petal 12/24 it's a 42 lb they later made a 56 lb that was strait 24 volt. At the last they still had the bent shaft and it came in the middle of the motor. Basically ruined the design. The weak leak was the cable for foot steer and yours is hand control so go for it. The 12/24 had a small prop that was great in weeds and the 56 had a giant prop good in open water, they both fit each other with the hole re drilled and most people bought both. Garnet
  2. If your dealer is close I would take it there. Try to be there when the mechanic goes thru this stuff. You can make in complicated but it's not and most is just normal stuff that you deal with every year. Garnet
  3. I refuse to give up sight, feel, instinct in any style of fishing and dropshoting is know different. Garnet
  4. First time I'm voting for a short shaft..........! When I had 62" it was super on Lake Ontario,Erie, Simcoe when I went shallow all that shaft was in the way. So the answer is were you fish. Garnet
  5. You need to work thru your problem and get the answer. If you find one battery to be fault the next step take the caps off. If your battery are down water it's just a short amount of time before they crap. The next most likely is your charger as I said get a muilti do the test. A load tester is easier and about $40-90 a muliti meter $5. If you like wasting money don't do the test just start buying. Garnet
  6. I had a Max. shortened from 62 down to 54. Buddy removed head and outside shaft, took the inner shaft out of the motor shorten the motor end and re thread shaft. The threads are standard pipe thread and he use 5 minute epoxy on the threads. Worked for 3 seasons. I also read about this guy that need more length 78" and he threaded 2 shafts together. Garnet
  7. Base to the water plus 10-12 " and longer if rough water. Remember you can raise motor up, at some point it becomes to long. Garnet
  8. The first thing is charge your batterys full. Make sure everything is clear and on high press button. If motor is fast then plug your charger back in and take multi meter and test batterys should be 13 to 14 volts. You are really seeing if the charger is working anything less 10 to 12 volts get new charger. Now disconnect charger and batterys and check each battery if any one battery is less than 12.25 that battery is junk. Now wire battery and charger and the problem is still not found. Run those battery for a bit if the motor suddenly slows remove prop and on face you will see small bolts remove one and if it's wet you have seal problems, and all fixes should be done at a service depot unless you are very handy. 9. The top and bottom pieces are 20-25 each easy to change. Just loosen the cable under the wire and cable entry on the foot petal. And that pulley were the cables go tape the cables on the pulley. When you re install make sure your foot petal is in the right position and your motor is point strait ahead. Garnet
  10. Take the 4 screws that hold the head together, pop the top off, you will see were the cables go to the pully. It might be broke right there. If this is the case lossen cable and move metal piece back to second set of holes and re tighten cables. If the cable is broke in the foot petal take to a repair shop it is a bear of a job. Garnet
  11. There are plenty of rat-l traps copies and they are all cheap copies. I have 17 rat-l traps that never get used unless I'm fishing for money. I buy more ever year take them out of package and fish a bit and get rid of them if they start catching fish I change hooks and rings and see if they get in the money box. Garnet
  12. I would mail it back and stay positive and firm. You might be very surprised at what you get. Garnet
  13. If I'm fishing a worm or jig and get a instant bite or if a fish swims up an take the bait aggressive my first instinct is crankbait, spinnerbait or buzzbait. Mostly whats close at hand and goes fast. The hope is to wear them out and then switch back to what ever the first bite came on. Then it's what I know about the body of water if they are 2's and you need 4's after 5 cast I move. If some bigger fish are mix I beat on them to death. Garnet
  14. Take that PFD serious if you fall in your feet are up and guess were your head is. Garnet
  15. With a 109 you have the beast. Not sure if the 109 have a ramp up to your power setting if 50% hits in one shot away from your balance you will be standing on air. It's a beast and you will be spoiled. Garnet

Do not use automotive silicone spray that stuff is oil base. Reel Magic is used in produce industry and not available to the public. Drys quick and smooth seals water out. Keeps your mono sealed and floating for top waters and Steelheading. Haven't tried KVD stuff yet. Garnet
  17. Never run a trolling at max, unless emergency and return 75%. Nothing kills a batterys quicker. 36 volt requires 3 batterys . Running at 30 - 40 % with a 109 will be 2 days maybe more. Running your batterys to zero will hurt your batterys . You will get about 1 year. Charge after every outing with good charger 15/battery 3-4 years. You need 6 guauge wire to get the most out of a 109. Kit are available at BPS. Garnet
  18. I don't understand no haggle. I write the contract with lots of details and tell buddy the salesman don't be gone long, when he leave I wait about 4-5 minutes write my name and number on a paper and leave. 90% of the time you never make it to the door and the power positions mine. Garnet
  19. Go big or stay home........ you can run that 80 slow but when you crank that 30 to the max that's it. Almost everybody buys to small electric the first time and are soon out getting more power. Garnet
  20. Interest Started in the late 70's and guys from Catt bass club were fishing machines. Guys Like Bill Dance and the Linders credited Buck Perry for there fishing. And in my late teens I'm thinking if I'm to beat that group Buck Perry is somebody that I need to understand. You have read every word Buck wrote mostly miss quote in the wrong context. I'm sure Catt has read articles and knew the author had no clue. Buck mostly gave me the big picture, how the layout of many structures might be, how the fish might get there and why they might stay for some time. Garnet
  21. It will be the most difficult read and the most important of your fishing Education. Most people get caught up in the trolling and can't get the info moved to modern day equipment. Pay attention how the bass move threw the seasons and what is important to fish. Garnet
  22. You hook 2 batterys in parallel and excpect 12-14 run time you are in for a world of dissappiontment. Thats not smoke it's experience. Garnet
  23. 30 years ago I hook my batterys together and was very dissappointed and had heard these #'s. A couple years ago Anne Marie ran the #'s and spanked me for trashing batterys. I of course don't care if trash batterys are the result as long as fishing fishing time is increased. Garnet
  24. If you have 2 800 crank batterys in parralell you will get 1200 not the 1600 you are hoping for and then if they were not charged to the same level you will lose again and if 1 connection is just a little fuzzy you lose again, if your battery are not match set you lose again. Most setups you will be really lucky to get 30% so use 1 then use the other. Theres is nothing harder on batterys than complete discharge and charge but to get the most time on the water use 1 at a time. Garnet
  25. You can hook your batterys in parralell but you only get 25-30% more running time on batterys. I carried the exacter battery and switch them when the first got weak. This is very hard on batterys but keeps you fishing longer. Garnet
