  1. They do look and feel nice. SJ
  2. Yo-Zuri hybrid is amazing line, I love it and have never had any problems with it. Strong, sensitive and has very little memory, especially when used with KVD Line and Lure. I really dislike P-Line CX and CXX, but that is just my opinion on those lines. I am starting out the season trying the new P-Line Voltage. Time will tell. For fluorocarbon BPS brand is great for the price and tough as nails. SeaGuar InvizX and AbrazX are great and Tatsu is AMAZING! SJ
  3. Pacino and DeNiro are great. Heat was an amazing movie. SJ
  4. To set your cast control knob, 1st set your brake dial to ZERO, then adjust the cast control knob to where the lure just barely drops very slowly. Then adjust your brakes to around 7 or 8 or so and start there. SJ
  5. They are great baits and they do produce. Also there is really no wrong way to fish them. This is a great time of year to be using them as well. SJ
  6. Like everyone has stated, practice practice and practice. Some things to remember as you are learning. Don't cast into the wind, keep your break a little tighter then you think you need, don't cast around any obstacles, examples, trees, fence posts etc... anything that you might possibly hit your rod or lure on, don't try to cast to hard, nice and easy at first. All little things, but things that can really irritate you very quickly, trust me I learned the hard way. Set up some targets at different distances and practice casting to them, as you get accurate at one distance then increase it a little bit. But, PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE SJ
  7. I use a 7' M/F spinning rod with a 2500 size reel and 8lbs fluorocarbon line. SJ
  8. X2 on these, you can find them anywhere and they are not overly expensive. SJ
  9. I would ship them before I trusted the airline. But that is just my opinion. Then carry the reels on board and pack whatever tackle I wanted in a suit case and check the bag, especially since bags fly free with South West. SJ
  10. The BPS Pro Qualifier is on sale right now for $79 and the Bass Pro Carbonlite is on sale for $99, both of those reels would be good, especially at those prices. If you don't mind buying used then I would definitely recommend looking in the flea market, you can really find some great deals in there. SJ
  11. Rogers for sure. Great selection of baits and great prices and everyone is very friendly. Also gives me a good excuse to goto Smoke Box BBQ and Maggie Moos Ice Cream. SJ
  12. Thats awesome!! I just bite my tongue and keep my distance. SJ
  13. SeaGuar InvizX or Tatsu, both are excellent lines. SJ
  14. Went fishing at a private pond, parked, walked a couple hundred yards to the pond, walked another couple hundred or so to where I wanted to fish set down my tackle bag and went and picked up my rod and realized that not only did I not have a reel on the rod I wanted to use but I had actually left the reel at home! What a great trip!! SJ
  15. Got to try out 2 new things today, new lift kit and tires on the jeep and the new rod and reel!! Great day!! The field I had to drive through to get to the pond was very wet and muddy and the fish were biting ever so slowly, but man what a great day! SJ
  16. Sometimes I hide stuff sometimes I don't, at least she lets me think I am getting away with it when I try and hide stuff.lol SJ
  17. Has anyone tried the new Lews baitcasters or sprinning reels. The reels look and feel amazing. Just wondering how they perform in the reel world though. SJ
  18. The SX is the one to get, much better then the Revo S and actually for the extra $30 the STX is that much better. SJ
  19. I really like Berkley Chigger Craws and I also like Chompers twin tail grubs as well. SJ
  20. You can not go wrong with St Croix. Their customer service is top notch and you can also use their upgrade program if and when you decide to move up to an Avid or another one of their rods. SJ
  21. I would look at the Revo STX or SX, Shimano Curado 200E7, Daiwa Advantage HSTA or the Pflueger Patriarch. All of these reels are excellent reels and range in price from $170 to $200 and can be found on line and in the flea market for probably quite a bit cheaper. SJ
  22. After reading all the positive reviews I picked up 2 of these rods today. 6' 9" MH casting and a 7' MH spinning rod. They feel incredibly light and very well balanced. They have an access port on the bottom so you can add weight to the rod if you feel the need to help balance it out. The rods are going to be paired with a Quantum SMOKE and a Quantum Energy spinning reel. These reels feel amazing on these rods, so only time will tell. Hope to have a report after this weekend. SJ
  23. Talk to customer service at BPS, if you are referring to a store and they will order them in for you and there is no shipping charges and they usually have them 2-3 days. SJ
