  1. I will throw a jig around timber anytime, but this year I have been flipping a beaver around timber and having a lot more luck with it then with a jig. But I will always start with a jig. SJ
  2. You have to be able to throw either one. I hate spinning reels and am forcing myself to use them more and more, especially for finesse fishing. But I still dislike them, but at least I now own a couple. SJ
  3. I have the Ultra Soft in 8lbs and 10lbs test on a couple of my spinning reels and have never had a problem with it, even when I did not treat it with KVD L&L. How did you go about putting it on your reel? SJ
  4. That was a brutal hit, hate to have been the receiver. SJ
  5. Its great line, sensitive line, great abrasion resistance and it is very very strong. When used with KVD L&L it is very manageable. For spinning reels I use Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft. SJ
  6. I like to throw a swim jig down the outside of the pads, you can also swim it through the pads if they are not to thick. Otherwise a frog is an awesome thing to throw on top of those pads. It is an experience that is for sure when those big bass bust through those pads and attack the frog. SJ
  7. If you are referring to the cast control knob then yes this correct. It has to be fairly tight to stop a 3/4oz lure from falling way to fast. Be sure when you set the cast control knob that your dial for the magnetic brakes is set to zero, then adjust the cast control knob. SJ
  8. 1. 4 inch Kinami single tail grub 2. 5 inch Chompers dual tail skirted grub 3. 4 inch Berkley Chigger Craw 4. 5 inch Berkley Power Hawg 5. 6 inch Big Bite Baits Squirrel tail worm 6. 4 inch Big Bite Baits Yo Mamma 7. 4.5 inch Strike King Coffee scent tube 8. 10 inch Big Bite Baits Kriet Tail Worm SJ
  9. I would start with a swim jig. You could also use a flippin jig and/or some kind of creature bait. SJ
  10. Nice, that laugh was needed. SJ
  11. Congrats guys, SJ
  12. My favorite part of coaching these little kids is the parents coaching from the side lines and giving them completely different instructions then myself and the rest of the coaches. It use to irritate me, now it doesn't even bother me. I found away to get the kids to ignore their parents, bribing them with candy, pop and pizza works great!lol But I would not trade these times for anything, that is for sure!! SJ
  13. Absolutely love them and I agree they should be available year around. SJ
  14. The mobile site is very very nice!! SJ
  15. I basically throw the following colors, black and blue, green pumpkin, watermelon and white. I will throw variations of these colors but that is basically it. Don't try and over think it, that is the key. Just try and find what works for you and your confident in, confidence is a big key. SJ
  16. 12lbs test Yo-Zuri Hybrid line SJ
  17. The Winch is a great reel, the drag is smooth and strong. I really like the longer handle. The Curado E5 is also a great reel. The Curado does handle lighter cranks a little bit better. But both are outstanding reels. SJ
  18. The P-Hill bass club is looking for non boaters and are all really great guys. SJ
  19. PFDs and kill switches are a must as far as I am concerned, just like a helmet and proper attire should be used at all times on motorcycles and ATVs. SJ
  20. I got some of these but haven't tried them out yet. I did pick up some Big Bite Baits Squirrel Tail worms and they have worked very well. Glad to hear some good reviews on the Owner ones. Have to try them out this afternoon. SJ
  21. All of our local tackle stores put them all on clearance and got rid of them. I never tried any of them but I did not hear very good things about them from anyone I talked to. SJ
  22. For me they both serve 2 different purposes. Lizard for Caroling rigs and beavers for t-rigging and flippin as well as for jig trailers. SJ
  23. Sometimes they are great and other times they just make you want to scream!! Glad to hear your enjoying them, at least they are trying harder then they use to. SJ
  24. No trailer, but a stinger hook is not a bad idea. SJ
  25. I fished with it all day today and did not have any problems with it. I have it on 2 bait casters and 1 spinning reel, 8, 12 and 15lbs test. I have Voltage on 1 bait caster and it works fairly well, but it does have considerably more memory. SJ
