Quantum Smoke editors choice from TT
I like the reels but I do not like the ACS reel seats on the rods. SJ

Trying to find the best performing braid for Shimano Saros 2500
I would look at the new Suffix 832 in 30 or 20lbs test or if you want the best then try Daiwa Samurai braid in the same ratings. SJ

Fish the lily pad beds early.
I love fishing a swim jig in the lily pads and flipping a Berkley Power Hawg or a Chigger Craw. Great times can be had fishing the lily pads early. SJ

Trilene Sensation
Its a mono filament line and I have used it and it is a pretty good line, but for the price there are a lot better lines available. SJ

US Reel Hibdon Supercaster 800SX
I saw Jimmy Houston at BPS during the Fishing Classic and he spoke very highly of these reels. I talked to him for a while after the class and looked at the reel and didn't really even think about asking him where it was made at. But overall I was not very impressed with the looks of the reel. No clue how it performs so I will be anxious to hear how you like it. SJ

Big bear Rods?
I tried one of these rods a while back and was not impressed at all. The rods overall quality was very nice, but they are way over priced and the grip, well its not something I want on any of my rods anytime soon. SJ

Quantum Smoke Brakes
After looking at the pics closer, that is the 150 size and not the 100. I can't find anywhere that actually tells you what braking system comes with each one. SJ

Fluoro Questions
I use SeaGuar AbrazX in 15lbs test for flippin, when not using braid. I use the palomar knot, while others will recommend different knots, I have never had any problems with it. As long as you use KVD L&L you will be fine and as for castability it is great and it is very good for abrasion resistance. SJ

Quantum Smoke Brakes
Interesting, mine definitely does not have that braking system. Going to have to look into this that's for sure. SJ

Johnny Morris sig series spinning reel??
I have looked at this reel, really like the carbon black look the reel has, but everyone I talked to at BPS basically said stay away from that reel and look an another reel from another manufacture. At least it looks cool.lol SJ

Johnny Morris Carbon black Reel??
To me the Johnny Morris Carbon Black reel is just an updated version of the old silver titanium deposition reel that they no longer sell. SJ

symetre vs supreme xt??
I would go with the Supreme XT, it is very smooth and light and also comes with an extra spool, the Symetre while it is an outstanding reel and performs very well does not come with an extra spool any more. Now if the extra spool is not something you are worried about then get the Symetre. SJ

swim jig ?
I will throw a swim jig all day everyday. They are great producers. I will throw a swim jig anytime and anywhere. I prefer swim jigs over spinner baits. I will mainly throw 1/4oz and occasionally throw a 3/8oz. I prefer to use 1/4oz the majority of the time and with no rattles. But if the water is real grassy or muddy then I will add rattles. The nice thing about throwing a swim jig is you can cast it out there and just let it sit for a couple minutes like a regular jig and if no takers then start swimming it back in. They also work wonderfully in the grass. For colors any color is ok, but I prefer white with some shades of blue and red on the jig or the trailer. SJ

Daylight Savings Time
I just wish we would do away with this whole spring forward and fall back an hour stuff and just leave it alone. As soon as you finally get adjusted to one or the other its time to change again and you got to start all over getting use to it.lol ;D lol SJ

Braid question?
There is no way, I have pulled up small trees, big rocks, tires, pulled a branch off a tree and have never had a Owner hook straighten out. SJ

Lews speed spool?
Well I got my Lews Tournament Pro Bait Caster last weekend and have been putting it through its paces as much as the weather will allow me. The reel is very solidly built and is incredibly smooth and looks awesome. Not sure about the knobs yet, but they haven't caused me any problems yet and they are definitely better then those foam grips that came on my Revo Premiers and my Patriarch XTs. So first day out I did some pitchin with the reel and it is very smooth and I had no problem pitchin and hitting my target every time. The retrieve is very smooth and the drag is very smooth as well. Caught 6 nice fish on it, nothing over 2lbs though. I was using a 3/8oz jig on a Micro Magic 6' 9" MH rod. This combo was just unbelievably smooth and powerful. Next day out I decided to try some moving baits so I tied on a Strike King Red Eye Shad and went back out to the same lake. The reel casts very smoothly and very effortlessly. The retrieve was very smooth and once again the drag was very nice and smooth and powerful. So 2 days out with this combo, about 3.5hours of fishing time and I can honestly say that I am more then pleasantly surprised with this combo. Only time will tell how it holds up over the summer and constant day in and day out use. But as for right now I am very impressed and am adding a couple more to the arsenal for this summer. I will update as I get to use this combo more. SJ

what would you use...
Yep jerkbait is perfect this time of year. Just fish them really slow. Very small and I mean small jerks of the rod and keep the rod tip pointed at the lure. SJ

super tuning?
The link does not appear to be working. If you are referring to super tuning a bait caster it does help. There are people all over that super tune reels. I believe that Delaware Valley Tackle, a board sponsor does this work. SJ
