Quantum- fading away???
I didn't even realize Shakespeare had sold the Cajun Line brand. I never noticed it wasn't on any of my paperwork anymore. It is a good thing I didn't try to order any this year. JT Bagwell

Brown and Purple Jigs
I don't use a lot of brown and purple jigs, but I do use a Laminate Senko that is sort of a brown and purple color and it works great. I am sure that color in a jig would be awesome too. JT Bagwell

Quantum- fading away???
I had the exact same problems with the Quantums I bought about 6-7 years ago. I got 4 or 5 from BPS and a few of them had the same issue that you mentioned within just a month or so. I sent them back to BPS and got more reels, they did the same thing. After that I sent them all back and got a different brand. A short time later I was talking to Davy Hite on the phone and we got talking about Pflueger reels and how great they were. I have now been using Pflueger reels since then and I don't have any plans to switch. JT Bagwell

What's the scoup on Rage Tail? Is it a division of Strike King or something? Just curious because I went to the site and saw the Strike King logos and Shaw is sponsored by Strike King. JT Bagwell

UPS delivered some sweat reels today
You guys might be on to something. I think the ones I leave in my Triton will have the regular spools, but the ones I take pond fishing with have the spare spools on them. Thanks for the tips guys. JT Bagwell

It has been a while since I had this discussion, but if my memory serves me right, you are correct Pflueger does produce them. JT Bagwell

UPS delivered some sweat reels today
I got some of the new Pflueger Supreme XT spinning reels today. They are one of the smoothest spinning reels I have ever seen. They are really cool looking too. The color had to grow on me at first because I am more into the silver/gray look, but the gold looks rich. The picture really does no justice. If you live close to a tackle store that carries these babies, you really should at least get a look and a feel. The BPS website actually has a little better picture but it was either to big or to small when I copied it to here. JT Bagwell

Patriarch
Typically it takes a year or two after a new reel line comes out before they make it in a left hand version. I guess right handed reels sell a lot better. I am left handed, but I use right handed baitcasters. Part of that is because when I was a kid I got hand me down reels from my grandpa and he is right handed. On the plus side, I do not have to switch hands after I cast so it saves time in a tournament. JT Bagwell

new spinning reel
I also have the Pfluegers mentioned above and they are great reels. They are all very smooth and have performed well. I have the new Pflueger Supreme XT spinning reels on order but they haven't come in yet. You definately can't go wrong with any of the Pflueger spinning reels. I used the Medalist exclusively last season and I did not have a single negative issue with them. JT Bagwell

Yes I have several of the Summits. So far I really have nothing to compare except for the visual aspects and the Patriarch wins that hands down. I will give you an update once this front moves through and I can get on the water. JT Bagwell

Bass Pro Shop Reels
I can tell you that without question, BPS did not buy out Pflueger. JT Bagwell

Bass Pro Shop Reels
I had not heard this before. However, I have been told by someone at Shakespeare that the BPS reels are actually Pflueger reels that have been private labeled for BPS. So BPS reels = Pflueger reels. JT Bagwell

Yeah Micro, I think Pflueger took it to the next level with this reel. It is sweet looking. I just wish I could hit the water today instead of freezing. JT Bagwell

The boys in Brown delivered my new Pflueger Patriarch reels yesterday. These things look and feel Awesome Baby!!! In typical fashion, a cold front came through and it is in the mid 30's and trying to snow right now. Looks like I will have to wait until mid-week before I can get out and test these bad dudes. I also ordered the Pflueger Supreme XT spinning reels, but they didn't arrive yet. Here is the Pflueger Patriarch, I am already impressed by this piece of equipment. JT Bagwell

Pre season preparation rant.
Rob, Just remember, "Do not drink beer until after your lures are tied on." Don't think I forgot about that. Was that last year or 2 years ago? Later man, JT Bagwell

Team All Star IM10 B/C Rod
I use All Star rods and have some from a few different product lines. (Titanium, Platinum, Team All Star, etc) In my opinion, they are great rods. They are even better when you compare the prices to other brands. JT Bagwell

B.A.S.S. boats?
I went through a list of about 200 pros and I couldn't find anyone running a Stratos besides Larry. Kind of interesting because they are decent boats and they are a Genmar brand. JT Bagwell

Guys, I am not sure if it was done on purpose, but the thread about the 2009 Road Trip is locked. It will not allow comments anymore. Looks like LBH replied about 15 minutes ago and he was the last one. JT Bagwell
