  1. This is what it is all about... Below is an excerpt from an email I received tonight from one of my readers. This is why I do what I do. "Because you told me how to fish jerkbaits, i went to a local lake with a jerkbait yesterday. I caught a 6 pound largemouth. It was freezing cold but i casted my lure into a huge brush-pile. I followed your directions and........ BOOM! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!" JT Bagwell
  2. Thank you all. The weekly column is just the beginning. I have some other ideas that I may be doing something with in the near future. JT Bagwell
  3. Thanks a lot Butch. There will be a new column every week. JT Bagwell
  4. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about the whole bed fishing issue too. However, the purpose of discussing it in my column was to let anglers know that this technique works and does so very well. JT Bagwell
  5. umm yeah, what he said. lol Dusty T. It appears that the format is fairly close to being the same as the email version now. Hope you liked it. JT Bagwell
  6. lol Kajun, you replied right when I was replying to the other one. Thank you as well. JT Bagwell
  7. Thanks a lot. It kind of surprised me that it was up already. I am glad that you liked it though. JT Bagwell
  8. The shows on ESPN were good. I didn't really care for the hosts that much. Mark Zona did a decent job though. JT Bagwell
  9. As you may have seen, my column "Bagwell's Bass Tactics" will be coming to BassResource.com on January 3rd, 2005. Thanks JT Bagwell
  10. Thanks RoadWarrior JT Bagwell
  11. lol Ok, now I understand the reference.
  12. Mike is a really nice guy. Did he ever get that BassCat sold? Believe me, I would have no objections to leaving my lures (well some of them) at home in order to get a world record smallie. JT Bagwell
  13. Bama, Things in the North are still cold. lol My temp gauge in my office says it is 27.5 degrees outside right now. lol That's a heat wave compared to the -7 we had last week. As far as I know, there are no members from the other site on this one. I did talk to Keev a little bit ago though. lol He owns some topless fishing site now. Yes I am still fishing a lot of tournaments, but I don't plan on fishing the Bassmaster Tour any time soon. I make too much money at my "real" job to just walk away. Therefore, I am just fishing regional (and some southern) stuff and doing my writing and other things on the business side of the industry. Stuff I can do from my office here, that won't take me away from my full time duties. Good to see you here. Welcome to Bass Resource, it's awesome here. JT Bagwell
  14. Is this the same BamaCoast I used to talk to on the FishingBoard a year or two ago? Welcome to the forums. JT Bagwell
  15. Just in the short time the new forums have been up and running I see that over 300 people have joined. How AWESOME is that?? ;D JT Bagwell Ps: Yes I edited this. ;D
  16. I couldn't narrow it down to one fish catching machine, so I will name three (not in any particular order). 1. Jig and Pig (or Jig and Plastic) 2. Senko 3. Gary Yamamoto's Kreature JT Bagwell
  17. RoadWarrior, You are correct, Inside Line is a great magazine. Most of the writers are pretty good, but that Bagwell guy gets on my nerves. ;D Just kidding, glad you like the magazine. JT Bagwell
  18. In clear water I don't think you would want to use braided line on its own. I am sure the fish will see it. In a situation like that you would want to use a Mono or Fluoro leader. All of the areas I fish have stained to very dirty water (IE, Muddy Mississippi river) and I don't think the line visibility is much of a factor at all. If it is a factor, I have never noticed. Most of the guys that I know here locally fish with PowerPro and don't use a leader. When you go to places with clear water it's a different ball game. JT Bagwell
  19. I agree a lot with Nick on the size and blade configurations. They are nearly identical to my selections. JT Bagwell
  20. Burning baits is a technique that works very well in a lot of situations. One particular experience that I had was in the Spring. The water was still pretty cool and I found one little muddy area that was a few degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. I would cast a lipless crankbait as far as I could throw it. Then I would just reel as fast as I could reel. The fish just hammered the bait. If I recall correctly, I had something like 15-18 bass just out of that one muddy pocket. JT Bagwell
  21. I happen to use 50 lb test PowerPro (no leader) when I fish Senkos. This is how I have fished them for a few years now. Personally I don't know how this is "a little much." It works just fine. JT Bagwell
  22. Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions in the survey. Your answers will be used to help the company resolve some issues that they are dealing with. At this time, we will not sending out anymore surveys. Thanks JT Bagwell
  23. They do something up there with paint for Rail Cars and some other stuff. Not sure what else they do. JT Bagwell
  24. SirKevin, You ever heard of a company called Plastikote (it's in Mississauga)? The company that I work for owns Plastikote and I do paperwork to send stuff to them about 3 times a week. JT Bagwell
  25. Keep us posted on your results with the red hooks. JT Bagwell
