  1. Hooked on the Wave Lizard on a Carolina Rig as of late. Might swap it for the Rage Eliminator early tomorrow.
  2. an Diego Jam for lures including jigs. SO much easier for these tired industrial fingers. Palomar for hooks.
  3. Not synonymous at all. Golf is a game whose objective is to put a little ball in a hole. Like tiddly winks, could appeal to virtually anyone. Fishing is a blood sport. Its original objective was to eat, and, for most part still is. Not surprising to me that it appeals to few comparatively as entertainment. But...it gets old hunters like us up in the morning.
  4. One is not better than the other. Watching someone fish and someone golf can be extremely boring. And, I feel that is their only common thread. One is a game, one is a sport. Apple orange thing to me. Golf is a great game to learn and play. Fishing is a great sport to learn and participate in.
  5. Yep. I just load up the rod in the opposite direction the fish is moving. Come to think of it, that is the same hookset I use for everything except frogs. And that is just slower and a bit firmer. I have tried imitating the company sales reps on TV and pretty much miss everything. I jus dont have doz skills.
  6. JamesD watch that booger hook on the bang button.
  7. For the last 5 months or so...
  8. Dozens of good rod makers so that, as always is subjective. Good 7-8' rod heavy with a fast tip. 50-65# braid. I like a 7.1:1 reel so I can throw back to the spot where I just missed him, quick I can catch them on 2 Spro colors in these ponds, black and white. Frogs are fun.
  9. Check ebay for this stuff. Do not go spending hundreds on 'things' only to realize you would rather be watching golf on TV
  10. Wife and daughters sponsored me to a trip to BPS. (0.7 miles) I was there a couple hours.
  11. Excellent. Catch something!
  12. I own LH and RH Shimano, Ardent Edge, Lews, BPS ProQual, JM Signatures and CarbonLite reels. Fish a lot with them. Love them all. I have no preference or allegiance for matters such as these. I don't even need specific handing. Lucky me. Sorry your experience with the JM CarbonLite sucked. To be honest, I had $89 worth of expectations for the thing, ended up with $200 in performance. Mileage does indeed vary.
  13. This sweet little reel has been selling fast at our BPS. I have one mounted on a 7'-6" MH BPS Crankin Stick. And, thanks to Adam (my go to BPS guy) I can pick up Sunline Sniper off the shelf. This combo with 8# fluoro and my crank baits...well, lets just say it covers some water.
  14. FYI. Picked up a Bass Pro Crankin' Stick and Johnny Morris CarbonLite baitcaster reel. All of $165. With 8# Sunline Sniper fluoro and 1/2 - 3/4oz cranks I can cover water. Serious water.

Thanks very much. She wants a boat trip this weekend. She is getting serious. I love it.
  16. Hello and Welcome. Your screen name tells me you know A LOT more about them than I do. Personally have had no success with them. Have not thrown them much so...

She got bored quick trying for catfish. So she just rigged up a senko and boom. She has not settled down and I am thinking she is pretty much hooked. Caught ANOTHER a few minutes later. Pretty nice nice for a beautiful lady
  18. I did a simple search for "Alabama" not to long ago and the results were abundant and THEN some. My opinion is they're garbage. The amount of foul hooked fish alone make them dumpster fodder. Your mileage will vary...but not by much.
  19. Back when I was climbing up the ranks in the competitive pistol world one reality ALWAYS prevailed. "It's the Indian, not the arrow". ...jus fish.
  20. They do work. But these.... http://www.rapala.co...id=rapala-lures work better for me. A lot better. Your mileage will vary
  21. Green Pumpkin Thumper. 5/0 EWG hook with a pegged 1/4oz worm weight.
  22. Rage and Wave Tiki Super Soft
  23. Wave Super Soft Pro Tiki Stick My style, my ponds, this and Rage Thumpers are the only worms I can catch them with. Guarantee, your mileage WILL VARY.
