Best Bass Fishing Books?
Agreed, the "In Fisherman series 1, 2 and 3 are fine works. Encyclopedic really.

Dropshot From The Bank
I have more confidence in the split shot from shore. Sort of a drop shot technique for land locked anglers. Split shot sinkers stink IMO so I use bullet weights then a small swivel. I rig several leaders with light wire worm hooks and a small snap on either end. They're from 1 foot to 2 foot in length. Main line is usually 20# braid and the leaders are 6-8# fluoro, I have used everything except stray cats for bait with some success. Plastic minnows, creatures, worms..experiment.

The Snow - Take It Or Leave It . . . .
After "The Blizzard of 1978" I left those conditions for good. I raised my family here in the desert southwest. We see snow on the mountains to the northeast, that will due fine thank you.

Dropshotting?
I stink at DS from shore. Dragging a split shot rig seems to produce even in stained or muddy water. Maybe it's making enough racket to get noticed. DShotting vertically from my boat is fun. It really helps spotting them on my bird first.

ditto. I use 832 with a fluoro leader.

Warhorse
Hmmm. Seems the majority of critics and viewers have a significantly better opinion of War Horse. We'll have to see for ourselves.

Fishing Shows Return Finally!
Happy to see Lunkerville is on NBC/VS channel. I think it's the best bass fishing program. Authentic. Zona's show is great entertainment. Can't watch Mr. Dance reel in one 6-7# fish after another...after another.... I check the "big" shows out too for the occasional gem segments and there are some. But honestly those programs feel more like moving marketing slicks. I get the appeal of tournament fishing for some, it does not draw me.

Best Bass Fishing Books?
Received what I consider (so far) the best bass book I own from the wife at Christmas. Bob McNally's Complete Book of.....Bass In Depth ISNB # 0-9646265-0-0 Mind you now, I am nine whole months into the bass fishing thing. Until know I have not read such an understandable description of structure, breaks and break lines. Plus, how all that relates to depth and the location of bass. I think Mr. McNally's writing style deserves all the credit. I am really impressed. Wanted to share this with other new to intermediate anglers out there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Our Christmas Gift To Us.
I do stand occasionally, mainly to stretch my back and legs. I don't see the need for any elevation. My platform will just provide me a flat "spot" to stand. The Bimini pops up and down in a couple seconds and gets used for the "sun breaks" I mentioned, only when cool, shady canyon walls aren't near by. No worries gents...I got this.

Our Christmas Gift To Us.
Thanks yes, even a small casting deck will be a nice touch. The Bimini Top is a must for "sun breaks" on these desert mountain lakes.

The Nba Is Back!
I'm very happy for the devoted NBA fans. Personally I didn't notice its absence.

Our Christmas Gift To Us.
14' Aluminum V-Hull. Circa 1970 Lonestar (I think). Includes a 15 HP outboard. Love at first sight, bought her on the spot. Humminbird and Minn-Kota accessories are ready to go too. This fills the bill perfectly for us. Sorry about the awful cell phone pic. But you get the idea

Help Me Choose My New Rod/reel Combo!
Well you have Finesse, Light to Medium gear wrapped up. I add some muscle (combo model # 38-956-304-05) and call it good. The 7'-6" Heavy X Fast rod works for A TON of presentations and techniques. And the Johnny Morris is a fantastic value. Here's the BPS page link. http://www.basspro.c...10#BVQAWidgetID Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

T-Bow
The kid has a long way to go both in reads and throwing mechanics. Especially his reads. If his first is covered his second is only glanced at because he immediately gears up to run. Nasty, attaching defenses will take him apart. The kid's a very smart and big athlete so anything is possible. Once he learns to involve the other 10 guys on his offence consistently he really could be something. We will see.

Easy does it y'all . Here's a little quiz. What does the number 297 have in common? They're the points scored against New England...AND Green Bay so far this year. Take a look at where these teams are positioned in their conferences. Jus sayin' Interesting huh?

The full-time guys that work the Mesa, AZ BPS fishing department really know their stuff and have helped me catch bass. Pretty good sellers too.
