  1. Good stuff Cliff. Thanks!
  2. Perhaps you're competing against mother nature. Sounds like your lake has plenty of food and they're just not interested. Maybe work at inciting a reaction bite? Noise and flash might just work. Zara Spook One Knocker. Buzz bait. Chrome colored Lipless cranks like Red Eyed Shad. These lipless cranks are working for me in a similar lake for me with tons of natural food. Anyway...
  3. Outstanding O-Lines make average QB's good. And good QB's great. The league has a lot of "average" QB's. We'll just have to see how the season plays out. Offensive Line. It's everything. Jim
  4. 10" Rage Thumper June Bug.
  5. Sorry, late to the party but... 10" Rage Thumper T-Rigged 1/8 oz worm weight and the 5/0 Offset Gamakatsu as well. I wanted to make mention of this since it was my first significant bass catch EVER ** ** other than a few little dinks on a DS
  6. Need, no. Would you enjoy the added control and accuracy? My moneys on yes.
  7. Guaranteed RESULTS here...
  8. I have a gigantic BPS one mile from my place and enjoy wondering around there frequently. Bought a "few" things too. Although they don't have everything (apparently it's not needed), I patronize the mom and pop shops more. I get the feeling that THEY NEED ME TO. Always getting great 'where, what and how' info based on my area. I am new at this and really appreciate the personal touch the little place offers.
  9. I support the sportsman afield regardless of game and legal method taken period. The benefits derived from them are now generational. We owe them much. Personally, I only 'take' what we will eat. With the exception of invasive pests.
  10. Two of these ...actually not a terrible idea. You'll have enough $ left over to spool up both with quality mono too. jus sayin'
  11. Mine is shot in USPSA 3-gun. Built by Marty Koldziej at Accuracy Speaks Gunsmithing in Mesa AZ. Here are a couple pics of his muzzle brake installed on my barrel. Amazing rifle.
  12. Cast right handed. Both spinners and BC's are left hand retrieve. Swapping to the left hand after casting never felt correct to me.
  13. FWIW I'm happy with it too.
  14. These responses are impressive. Sort of blows up the "expensive" label. Braid looks like a tremendous value to me.
  15. Humminbird Fishin Buddy 120 on our 12' Fish Hunter inflatable. Works great.
  16. I know this is an oldie but...I MUST LEARN THIS...I am new and I fish like I am on crack or something. I make ten, twenty fast casts change lures, repeat...getting nowhere fast too. What the heck? Jim
  17. my brain hurts.

I'm good with the here and now.
  19. Anyone of those are fine IMO. I picked up the J. Morris Signature from BPS last week. The more I use it the more I love it, casts GREAT even with regular old 12# mono. So I guess you just gotta pick one and practice.
  20. FWIW...here are the Gamakatsu #58411 1/0 Offset Shank Worm EWG hook weighing in @ .43 grams And, my wacky rig hook the Gamakatsu #230313 3/0 Red Finesse Wide Gap weighing in @ .47 grams. Hoping my 3/0 is good to go cuz I own a boat load
  21. I am new at this too. But since joining I have been so busy reading the articles available here http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_articles.html I have not had to post a question yet. BUT THEY ARE COMIN' The series for Beginners http://www.bassresource.com/how-to-fish have been invaluable. Must read stuff. Jim
  22. FWIW, another BPS-Johnny Morris Signature Series user here. A lot of reel and lot less than a car payment too. Jim
  23. Bought my first baitcast reel a month back, (I am VERY new to fishing period) and the "underhand cast" is the only cast I can do. My attempts at the other casting techniques have been pathetic. Jim
  24. Thanks for the warm welcomes! I am fortunate enough to have a HUGE Bass Pro Shop about a mile or so from my place. Wifey has a slightly different take on that. I will say this... It's intimidating! Take about overload. Hopefully it will all make sense to me soon. Jim
  25. Welcome. I am very new here myself. Sounds to me like you got a heck of a bass setup. Jim
