  1. Use the brakes and don't cast 40' until you have completely mastered 20'.
  2. Rebel Pop-R's and Spro Frogs in that order. Would like to get in to Spooks more but they're to much like work for me.
  3. Caught my first night time bass tonight. On a Magnum Pop-R in Foxy Shad. Little, but man that was cool how he hit smacked it.
  4. 2-3 trips roughly. Maybe total 6-8 hours a week throwing something. Not much but I love every second of it.
  5. Spawn and post spawn conditions out here in the southwest deserts. Caught a bunch of 1-1/2 lb rats and some 2-3 lb'ers all from shore so far. All on light finesse rigs. Seriously problems fishing that slow but I am improving some. Need to get the cover off the tinny and start learning to jig in deep water.
  6. 7' MH Fast. 1/2 - 1 oz football jigs. 50# braid and 15# fluoro leaders.
  7. It is entirely, completely and utterly subjective.
  8. Still new at this but I land squarely in "where and when to fish" as THE primary area to help new anglers. There are thousands of lures, literally. What good are any of them if the guy is fishing the 90% of the lake that contains...no fish? Hands down IMO, where when, and a few good lures.

I soak metal parts in a 4 to 1 mix of Odorless Mineral Spirits and CLP for the heaviest gunk, like AR 15 bolts. Mobile 1 Synthetic for lubrication. Roughly 300,000 rounds fired in training and competition since 1992. Just HATE cleaning guns and I do so very infrequently. But when I do I use this and it works well.
  10. Small soft bag. Drinking water and power bars in it mostly. A few plastic worms, jigs and a spinner maybe. I don't have the discipline for a tackle box full of stuff. I would spend way to much time playing with gear and not feeling for bites.
  11. Don't fix what ain't broke.
  12. Honestly the more I fish with fluoro the more I dislike it. From the low end to high end stuff, whatever it takes to roll with this stuff, I ain't got it. Really good for leaders though.
  13. I did not know the Fiat made pick ups
  14. Yep, a gun you can sell for ~$499 will "normally" command 250-300$ as a dealer trade in. Of course there are exceptions. But the polymer handguns like the Glock's, XD's and M&P's are plentiful and in low demand "most places". So yes, keep it shoot it and wear it out!
  15. I own both. Like them too. Sort of the difference between a GMC and Chevy pick up.
  16. This might help. http://www.gunbroker.com/Firearms/BI.aspx?Keywords=XD+40 As far as dealers go you are lucky to get 50% of the guns retail value. Most states make dealers hold trade in's until the public safety (LE) folks check the guns paper trail, etc. That time eats profits so... The ONE consolation of trading it in to a dealer is THEY have to deal with all that legal crap. Valuable? Yes, but is it worth such a big chunk of change? Most likely not. I might post a "For Sale" sign including a picture at your gun club if they allow it. Best to sell it to someone you know or are familiar with. Just keep good transaction records.

  18. Sorry for the delayed response. Very well, to answer your question. Check their website. A sturdy pant belt really helps retain the gun. My work day has me walking in some pretty "challenged" areas and drawing from a standing position is no issue at all, with some practice. Drawing from a seated position on the other hand, especially in the car, is challenging. Buy 20 minutes of working out the angles and technique and you're good to go. And yes, there are better options for guns with exposed hammers IMO.
  19. I picked up one of those ugly DAO Ruger LCR's last week. Can NOT believe how light it is. The trigger pull is better than any I have used in its class. Pleasure to shoot even the 38+P ammo. Me likes
  20. http://www.smartcarry.com/ Takes some practice draws to get the hang of it. I work with a guy who has carried a full size 1911 45 ACP with these for a LONG time. Just over a year now, I tote a Ruger LCR in one and forget its there. Great value IMO. Jim
  21. Had no results with cranks myself. Then, quite by accident, I got strikes when the crank would smack into things likes rocks, logs and generally the bottom. Came to realize (late) that this is expected and common.
  22. BPS Sportsman's Warehouse Cabela's Liar's Korner The Hook Up * Wally Worlds Dick's (they're here but I don't care for them) * might be the best...ever.
  23. Never taken supplements, can't help there. But, Beef, Potatoes, Banana Splits and Chocolate Milk Shakes. Seriously, it's all we used (40 years ago) in my football years... ...and about 2 hours a day on the Universal Gym (aka torture device) plus practice. Plenty big. Plenty strong.
  24. My Pats came up short. Tough game. Giants made the big plays and earned the championship.
