I don't think people down south are really missing any thing. Any way why were the people trying to stop there cars with there feet. I guess they were all watching old Flintstones cartoons before going to work. What would make you think you can stop a 4,000 lb car with you feet then the breaks are locked up. I did have a laugh when that woman almost got hit by her own car.

I am gald winter is 1/4 over all ready. We had our first real snow fall this past weekend. Its been upper 30s and sun in till then. Perfect weather for laying out and getting a tan.

Glad I left Michigan.

No snow yet here in MA, I'm planning on fishing in the next or 2. I've never said that in the 15 plus years I've fished...WOOHOO

Snow seems to bring out some of the poorest decision makers I've ever seen. Our snow out here disables 2WD vehicles but you'll still pass them fishtailing their way up the grades every storm. Endless entertainment.

Getting nervous though with the lack of snow... had 230+ inches at my house last year and so far this year it's only 7".

Those people abandoning ship ..... hahahahahahah!!! Got a good laugh at that.

And that guy cleaning off the wrong car hits home. I work across the street from a hotel that I assume gets a lot of people from out of town on business often with rental cars. Rental cars must not provide ice scrapers or brushes. We have bad winters the past couple years. I have really enjoyed seeing others misery and seeing what way they find to clean off their car.

Call me crazy, but if it's going to be winter .... it might as well snow.

It's kind of their fault for even driving in those conditions.

Personally, I don't really mind if it snows. I'll stay home or go out and have some fun in my truck.

We are probably the worst offender. Doesn't help that we sit on huge salt deposit. There has been no snow in three days here. Driving from Delta Sonic to my house -about three miles- totally coated my freshly washed truck. They salt the day before, if there is snow in the forecast. The other day, I did a little fishtail turning onto my street because of all the salt, LOL.

Snow usually comes late Jan.-early Feb. here. So far we are missing every snow storm that hit.My mom called from Texas asking if we were OK because she heard we got like 2 feet of snow. I was like "errr,I can still see my grass".

This winter ain't bad,besides the cold,we've only got two light dusting so far. I'm not complaining. I've lost attendant bonus money for calling off work because of snow.

Detroit does not get a lot of snow, I think average is less than 50", Cleveland and Buffalo get ours. Southwest Detroit has huge salt deposits, as a kid their we went on tours of the mines, an underground city, believed the mine is closed now.

Out in this part of Kansas, we've already got one snowstorm that dumped 10" on us. For me, that's more than enough for a lifetime. My job requires me to do a lot of driving around town and snow complicates things greatly. Seems like a lot of people forget, from one winter to the next, how to drive in snow.

IMHO, snow has no redeeming qualities. And don't give me the tired old line about snow being sooooo beautiful either. IT'S FREAKIN' PLAIN WHITE!! If I want to see plain white, I'll sit and stare at a piece of printer paper.

After "The Blizzard of 1978" I left those conditions for good. I raised my family here in the desert southwest. We see snow on the mountains to the northeast, that will due fine thank you.

Snow or not....that's how we drive in the D.

We had about 2" right after Christmas. Hopefully that is all we will get this year.

And how! Coming from the central part of Wisconsin, I don't remember ever seeing this much green and brown in the middle of January. Gonna get out first blast in several weeks in the next couple of days.....5-8 inches.........weather's been crazy.

My canal was frozen over last year on newyears night (doesnt usually because it has current going through it) And this year. No ice at all. How strange. I just hope this doesn't mean a longer winter. I want to go fishing!
