  1. It's what America has turned into, holidays have become just a day to not work. We celebrate more stupid things then we should and it covers the real days of rest that have meaning. Barely anyone remembers what December 7th is suppose to represent, or even cares to, even kids aren't taught it in school anymore
  2. Have your scale checked with household items. Looks like it's closer to 3lb then anything
  3. Think you need more tanning before you get another pair of glasses
  4. That's a funny one. I've thrown pickerel in freezers and they still live after 3 hours
  5. doubt it'll help since youll be hitting the scum and cover the bait
  6. in those situations i cast far using a floating (non suspending or sinking) crankbait then crank deep, once i know the area where it get shallow or weedy i stop cranking and let it float to the top, hold the tip of high and reel for a bit then stop and continue to do so, so it doesn't go deep
  7. Depends on the location, there's plenty of 30lb+ carp by me, perfect conditions with a canal for them to grow, super smart too.
  8. d**n that thing got golf ball dimples
  9. Hard to narrow it down to one, perch/baby bass/chrome shad colors are my go tos depending on where I'm fishing.
  10. You can't compare PA tournament notes to everything else. Any pro will tell you PA sucks for getting big numbers. Only good thing we got is Erie and that shared with two other states
  11. As long as you guys don't have other people holding your own rods its okay
  12. Which model/power? There's Premier and Avid lines, also the Mojo crankbait
  13. I have the premier PS66MF, hell of a rod, it's got the backbone of a MH and top of a medium range for solid hooksets and castability. it's taken serious abuse and still strong as hell. I throw darn near everything on it
  14. On a more apples to apples comparison, they do cost more than the low average name brand $3-5 crank, that still performs (catching fish). That being said, are they worth it to me? No. Would it be worse if I lose a $10+ bait over a $3 bait, yes. I do good on the cheaper brand. It's mostly preference when you ask individually. All hooks wear out, rust, or break with use, same with paint.
  15. Great catch! Please don't derail the thread
  16. Some zebra mussels or a toothy critter
  17. There's really not much you can do about others additudes unless you build a rapport with them since you seen them so often. As for the point you go to, you didn't specify how you get there either walking trail or car, can it be accessed by bike?
  18. Treble hook usually means crank baits. I don't like the term 'for treble' since jerkbaits and topwaters demand a different presentation that a moderate action rod can't do good enough with.
  19. AVC70MHM, So versatile that you don't need an arsonel of crankbait rods.
  20. When you use toothpaste you are fine sanding the coated item, sure it looks good now but you ended up lapping the whole surface and removed it everywhere else. This in turn repeats what you set out to fix. The only thing you can do to help prevent this from happening is constantly applying a wax coating, and if you forget you'll have to redo the paste again.
  21. I have the same problem, not a fan of super lines but I like the hollow frogs. Since I stopped using braid the spros and snagprofs get collected in a bag.
  22. First thing, do you put oil in it? Just a few drops
  23. The fish is startled already by the hook set and fight, don't see how much of difference the net being positioned is going to changed that
  24. You could do a couple of things to help the ratio. Try out different single tail trailers that aren't long, add a trailer hook, or stop huntin' dinks
