  1. Ha! She just bought that color, wouldn't doubt for the bass green if we starting going for smallies I bet there will be a bronze in my shopping cart Sidenote, you can max out your Likes for a day, who didn't get one I'll do it tomorrow.
  2. Thanks everyone, it was an incredible day to say the least. From the weather and reports from other anglers I didn't expect anything like this, the odd spawn periods ( three times so far) the massive amount of dinks because it, and what's worse is how shallow the river is from the lack of rain. From the areas reputation there hasn't been any largemouth bigger than 3lbs around here for a while. So I'm expecting this to be a freak incident that doesn't happen often. Dale, I ended up loosing the other twin which was slightly smaller when I was pulling it up from the wall, was my new PB aswell but it didn't bother me since my goal was for my wife to hook a biggun. We hit 3 largemouth with her one being the biggest, out of the two I hooked the smaller one (which I landed) was a good 4lber A-Jay, I have enough pictures but I don't have the measurements, I could atleast do comparable measuring from my wifes fingers though. As I really didn't expect these three big girls the last time thing on my mind was putting the tools in my bag
  3. Depth is usually stated on the box, for some baits out there that don't list a depth you can find them online in blog, retail site, or the manufacturers site. Results vary by line size and type, but more importaintly if your not reaching your max depth then just go one size deeper. When it comes to cranks you can get carried away and buy an arsenal, at that point it's always good to scribe or mark each bait for the depth that it does.
  4. If I replied earlier today when I went out I would've said yes, but just coming back from the second time it's a definite no
  5. This year turned out to be fantastic for my wife, first a 5lb smallie up erie, 4lb pickerel at a local lake.. Now this lunker out the river. Couldnt have done it more lady like using her avid pearl! Forgot my scale so I don't know the actual weight but sure beats my best What a wonderful day!!! I can't even describe how great today was.
  6. What color options are their Mr Big O? The tail looks like you can use it two ways by either cutting it for twin action or for single wag, have any info on that?
  7. I'd have to guess Extreme, but on clearance
  8. well the main difference would be the guides since you need salt resistance
  9. Since no one can fish 24/7, forums are a great place to talk about fishing when you can't. I believe I can speak for almost everyone that all would rather go out fishing than to argue/comment on the forum. But going out isn't possible all the time. Sorry but I feel the 'just fish' line is an excuse to not answer, low blow to people that can't fish all the time or for those can't fish enough.
  10. Because you're getting a better load from the rod. Now back to the so many hardcore shimano users, which I'm not seeing many.
  11. I don't know why they say fast on them but just checking the bend in-store they are more moderate action than a fast, for the price it is one of the better bangs for your buck crankbait rods.
  12. I'm a shimano fan, only reason why I got into them is because they were 65% off, how can you not like that? Far as any brand goes, I really don't care what you use, where your royalty lies within a manufacturer, be happy with what you use, and not what others think. But to say every shimano user does what you say is a bit off the top.
  13. For someone that hates shimano so much your sure like to drag their name into every conversation.
  14. Old garmin with updated map
  15. Them grubs are made out of magic, great story!
  16. Use a spinning reel if you're so worried about brakes.
  17. AK, depends on the pond and who manages it. Grass carp can be an effective weed control, they could be sterile and their quantity could be estimated for the size of the water
  18. Usually brakes are set and forget, once you have the brake(s) dialed in all you need to adjust is the spool tension for the smaller variance of weights you'll throw. One thing people do is ignore the mag brake by setting it down and focus on the centrifugal brakes, if you have both.
  19. Since you said something so broad as a state, I'll suggest lake erie.
  20. Fight back, get in there and start body checking them!

    None. Go to the doctor.
  22. Jim when you say it like that is seems so primitive
  23. Good story to read, makes me feel like I was a apart of it. Congrats to your wife!
