  1. I did something similar, 5' premier and a sienna, but the sienna didn't last a year. Bought a Sahara 1000 to fix that. The siennas are nice but they can't take too much abuse
  2. I see those guys too, though they use a rig like this
  3. Wow they're still selling discontinued Curado Es for $175?
  4. Usually black Friday entails buying other people stuff ... That being said the wife and I bought some more avids
  5. Well as spinning goes, there many options
  6. I've thrown those and 1/16 jigs on my main setup, I'm lucky to hit 30' max sometimes, accuracy is out the window and have many backlashes You need a ultralight reel (not cheap at all), 6lb line, and a Med-Lite rod for better results
  7. Figured, I know others have in-store deals only which would force you to be in the store so you purchase more.
  8. Finally decided to upgrade my 7'MH premier out of no where, glad I did but I still like my premier, now I just have to get use to the Avid 7'MH since it feels very different. I grew with the Premier as it was my first casting rod, got attuned to it and basically made it an extension of my arm, I could feel better than the consensus suggests with the rod, got accustomed to the balance and heavier weight. I guess I'll throw some braid on one of my laying around curados and have a frog/heavy cover setup with my old premier So far comparing the two after 2 hours of playing with the Avid: Avid 4.3oz, better balanced, feels a bit lighter, more sensitive (non strikes) Premier 4.7oz, felt slightly tip heavy, built like a tank, sensitive enough to notice subtle strikes Both compared with Curado 201E7 with 15lb line.
  9. Why not, they're keeping shanahan
  10. Just heard about it, Gano really set the boys up since he missed
  11. From many of the guys I met in Erie this summer talked about no fish eating gobies and they were to be killed since their invasive, do the trout really like them?
  12. According to the ad it's the Curado 50E only. http://www.theblackfriday.com/ads/acad/academy-sports-black-friday-ad2.shtml
  13. How's that make you a geek? You're trying to figure out how to mod toys, it's a guy thing
  14. Very nice, can't fake a smile like that
  15. It is somewhat staged, in one of the episodes it wasn't edited good enough where the gambler was seen pulling up in his truck with a box, after he opened up one of the lockers he claimed a coins score he just found, but it was the same box. The producers apologized about it and edited it

After the first day it gets easier, good luck
  17. Highly sensative rods are irrelevant when you're fingering the line, so depending on that technique the reel is more important
  18. Anything from Badger except their starter line. I use a Testors mighty mini kit, cause well I it complete for $25 at Walmart a few years back, don't need to upgrade.
  19. Not to sound shovanist, but your wife has 2 student loans, a car payment, no full time job, and doesn't make much. Yet she is pushing to buy a house when it would probably kill you financially. Stay at the in-laws until you guys get a better hold on your money/debt situation, to top it off keep and eye and maintain your credit scores for a better loan outcome
  20. Tripod and a camera with a timer
  21. Tweets are rediculois
  22. Me too, I actually use a creel bag and it fits my needs perfectly
  23. I think you mean Saros, I also don't like the CI4 knob
  24. That really depends where you build, who builds it, what materials you use. You can't get a good figure unless you give better details, besides a local manufacturer will better answer you on this.
  25. I've heard the Rapala and Berkeley digi scales both being negative as well in reviews, more of a 50/50 with them working. What I don't like about them is the hook to hold the fish isn't big enough
