This is a follow up to the Mr Clean thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/150787-mr-clean-magic-eraser-cleaned-cork-examples/ I Cleaned, Filled, and Cork Sealed most of my rods. I wanted to post them all at once but have been too busy. For those of you interested what U40 Cork Sealant looks like on cork I have examples. Start off with dirty, several years of grime: Cleaned and filled: Cork Sealer Applied: Finished look: Now the coloration of the cork appears a shade darker with the Sealer applied, Some instances you can barely tell like this one, others I've done have gotten a little bit more darker. Here's an Avid that got even darker, this is Cleaned: This is Sealed:

I'm not a Fenwick guy but for finesse I'd look at the medium light model with is the 6'10 med lt XF, though your finesse might be different than than mine.

It's a very nice rod regardless if you drop shot or not. It's xf action is unique, the blank is sensitive, the backbone is strong. I use the rod for a slew of techniques like jerkbaits, tubes, grubs, 4" wacky, shakey, and drop shot.

You can get Red Label for $2 more than Mccoy, not really expensive. You would have a lot of line to use as a leader too.

I've heard Ontelaunee is sweet catfish lake. It is big enough and can't be fished by boat, nor are you allowed to swim it. So it is perfect as a bucket lake. I fished it twice but didn't yield anything so I haven't gone back. It simple isn't worth the drive+shore walking for me.

I know nothing about finesse casting when it comes to what is optimal line/rod action/distance but I can get it around 30- 40ft without backlash.This was with working with what I had and fine tuning the reel for 15min with the weight. Really was just to see what it was capable of
