  1. I am real interested to what other people have to say about this. I also just saw the "numbers" on ESPN news. Seems like on paper Mayweather ran away with it. That's not the "vibe" I got watching it. Also looking at the two fighters' faces after the fight, Mayweather has two big puffy eyes and you can't even really tell De La Hoya was in a fight. Odd because the #'s say Mayweather landed signifigantly more power punches. I had no idea the numbers were so lopsided while watching it live. Like I said though, where I watched it I couldn't hear the commentary or see the numbers every round. I am also interested to find out how the judges scored it.
  2. And the winner is ...................... Mayweather by decision 2-1 It could have gone either way IMO. I personally had De La Hoya by a round or two. Lots of rounds were too close to call. De La Hoya was definitely the more aggressive one and Mayweather was running all over the ring. Early it looked like De La Hoya was going to run away with it. He wasn't exactly doing great, but Mayweather was doing NOTHING. Seemed like DLH would land a solid combo or two in each of the early rounds. Then the mid-late rounds DLH had either 2 or 3 single digit landed punches rounds. That hurt him. Neither one of them hurt one another and you can probably count on one hand the amount of "ohhhh ahhhhhh" punches. Like I said, I had De La Hoya by a round or two. He was trying to win while Mayweather was trying not to lose. I watched it at a Casino, so I can't wait to see it next week on HBO with sound and hear the after fight reactions.
  3. I don't know if it's THE Capricorn, but it beat out the Stradic on a head to head competition on Tackle Tour.
  4. Andre Berto He is being compared to a welterweight version of Mike Tyson. I can see it. I have seen 3 or 4 of his fights and I have been so impressed .......... and entertained.
  5. Healthy fish!!!!!!!!!
  6. What bass ;D ;D ;D
  7. I am sooooooooo pumped. I have been going back and forth for the past few weeks. Today I am on De La Hoya. Who knows about tomorrow. : I have been getting into the UFC the past few years, but there is still nothing better than a big boxing match IMO.
  8. Absolute SCUM. The authorities should have told the other competitors what he did, leave for a little while, come back, take him to the hospital, and then jail.
  9. I prefer casting set ups as well. I currently have a Shimano Chronarch 50 MG paired with a St. Croix Legend Tourney TBC68MXF that I absolutely love for shaky head fishing. I have yet to drop shot with it but suppose it would work fine. I have it spooled with 6 lbs line. This has completely eliminated any need for spinning gear for me. Edit: Sorry, didn't see your spending limit. IMO you can get good casting set-ups for finesse presentations, but you have to spend some $$$$. For your price range you would probably be better off going with a spinning set-up.
  10. I went through the same spell last year for about a 6 week span. I was losing about 50% of the bigger fish I hooked on the first jump like you mentioned including what I estimate would have been my biggest one of last year. It was really bothering me. Then the first solid fish I hooked up with this year spit it on the jump as well. I was really getting worried so I asked a similar question. I came to the conclusion that I was being too careful. Don't think about. Just keep the pressure on them and get them in. It's amazing when you start thinking about something you don't want to happen, it seems like you start trying to do too much and chit ends up happening. If you have never had this problem before, I bet a lot of it is a mental thing.
  11. Hate to see the front yard/back yard/kitchen pictures :'(
  12. I was soooo disappointed the first time I saw that video. I always like to see these HUGE saltwater fish being landed. I was pumped then ..... > ;D ;D ;D
  13. What's your back up plan if Plan A doesn't go as planned??? With a college education, the back up plans are unlimited. I don't know your situation, but I assume you are young and your obligations are minimal (wife, kids, house payment, etc, etc, etc). It would be a hell of a lot harder to go through college when those things start to pile up, if not impossible. But like roadwarrior said, if you measure success in terms of the amount of money you make, the two most successful people I know personally never stepped foot in a University. But they are definitely in the minority; especially these days.
  14. Nice Chunk!!!! Congrats
  15. Very nice. Always nice to catch a bign' on a new bait.
  16. What about BOAT CONTROL!!!! ;D
  17. I just tried it out for the first time the last couple weeks. Noticed the same thing. No big deal
  18. Yep. I remember that feeling. Soooooooo wierd. Brings a tear to the eye .... good times. I had a group of about 25-30 friends I hung out and did stuff with on a regular basis. Last time we all got together was New Years Eve 2001/2002 and even then quite a few people were missing. I see and talk to 3 now on a regular basis
  19. I am speechless. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I must admit though, it's kind of a catchy song. :
  20. Slap some "bling" on a rod and you have a perceived "cutting edge" rod.
  21. Nice day and once again I am impressed at how healthy those fish are. They don't miss many meals.
  22. Coming from a Shimano guy ...... Team Daiwa Advantage :
