I received a confirmation email saying they have received my order and will send me another email when my reel has shipped. Still haven't heard anything from them and I still don't have my reel.

For me it's "The Chase" more than anything. The variety of ways you can fish for them is what excites me. I was thinking about this very thing the other day. I was fishing lipless crankbait when all of sudden I hook into something that takes me (and my boat) for spin. I immediately had visions of this HUGE bass on the end of my line. After a couple minutes, I finally get to see it. I was extremely disappointed ..... it was an 8 lbs catfish. Then I got to thinking to myself after releasing it. That was the best fights I have had in awhile and yet I am still disappointed. I seriously had to laugh to myself. I realized that "the fight" might not be as important to me as I thought. If I wanted to experience fights like that regularly I could switch to cat fishing, but "The Chase" for them just ain't my style.

If you are truly "flipping", IMO just about any reel will do. The rod does about 99% of work in the case of flipping. Now if you are using it for pitching as well (like the majority of us probably do) then the reel is a little more important. I had been using a Shimano Castaic in the past with no problems, great reel. This year I wanted something a little easier to palm so I went with a Curado 100D.

That's great. Like you said, even though must of it is probably junk, that's still got to feel real good. I still have hopes of finding/snagging my video camera that went overboard last year, but that's in 20+ ft. :-/ Good Luck with the clean up. Although nothing in that box is going to work. The bass have got a real good look in that thing for 2 years. ;D

I am close to biting the bullet on that rod as well. Swimbait mania here we come. I have Matt's bluegill and bass and a few other <3 oz swimbaits. While my heaviest rod I have is OK, it gets real old after 20 minutes of casting and I know that's not the way to give swimbaiting an honest shot.

The mirrored lenses (green and blue) will not be ideal to wear in all conditions. They will fine for sunny days, but will be pretty dark on overcast days and low light conditions. The amber or my personal favorite Vermillion are better suited for an all around lens. I have a blue mirror pair and now an interchangeable pair .... I wear my Vermillions about 80% of the time. BTW - The green mirror has a amber base and the blue mirror has a gray base.

Muddy I am right there with you on this one. I have no clue which is "right". I can see both sides. It really scares me though that there are tons of nuts out there that can get guns they have no business having.

I have one of the older MP3 phones ..... kind of. They call it an MP3 phone, but it will only play WMA files. So before I put songs on my phone I have to convert them to WMA files. Don't know if that applies to you or not.

I am going to wait and see how the negotiations go with avid to see what I can get ........... or wait to see if I can get some new footage. Whatever comes first.
