  1. Start your own garden. Grow lettuce and tomatoes. Buy bacon and bread at the store. Make B-L-T sandwiches.
  2. What type of cover are you going to be fishing in? I fish in a lot of grass and hydrilla filled lakes. I get more peace of mind using a heavy action with a fast tip, and its easier for me to get the bait through the weeds.
  3. That is so cool! Way to go!!
  4. My Dad and I headed out Friday morning to a lake with several small islands in it and some lilypads in the shallow end. I'm throwing a frog into the pads and across the smaller patches. One of the smaller patches happen to be along side one of the small islands. So I throw the frog out, but I didn't see a small tree branch out over the pads. The line wraps around the branch, and my Dad says see if will pull off. It didn't, so we start the boat around the lilypads to get my frog out of the tree. When we come around the side of the island we got a real good look at the tree branch I was hung up on. It had a hornet nest built around it close to the tree trunk. All of that pulling I did on the tree branch really ticked off the hornets, they were swarming around looking for what was making the nest shake. Luckily changing the angle of the boat made the frog come loose from the tree branch. So for the day we ended up with 11 LM and we didn't get stung.
  5. I'll use a snap and hook on to the lure's split ring if it has one. If I can get a pattern down, or find a lure that they are hitting, then I'll tie directly to the split ring.
  6. 1- Minus, Rat-L-Trap, Spinnerbait, and swimming jigs.
  7. Never. I like the taste of cat, crappie, and bluegill a whole lot better.
  8. When your working a jig or a soft plastic along the bottom and one hits it so hard that it almost pulls the rod out of your hands.
  9. I think I would have whipped out the movie camera.
  10. Usually once a week March through November depending on the weather. Sometimes I can get out in January and December if its not too bad outside. My trips usually last 6 to 10 hours depending on what is going on at home and how they are biting.
  11. Those are some nice fish. Thanks for the pics.
  12. How much off balance are we talking here? Is it something you notice as soon as you pick up the rig, or is it something you notice after say an hour's worth of casting.
  13. I've had pretty good luck on jigs. Everything else has been so-so.
  14. Around here they work from just when it starts getting light outside until the sun comes up over the tops of the trees. I like to throw them in and let them sit for a couple of seconds until the water has settled down. I reel them in just fast enough to make the plop sound.
  15. I don't have any problem at night unless I happen to hit something I didn't know was there.
  16. ;D That's funny.
  17. Deadsticking jigs around creek beds or in between stumps. For Grass I like to drop a plastic worm in, let it set for a while and then move it just enough so that it changes position.
  18. They have been holding tight to cover in the lakes around here. Jigs and topwater baits have been working the best.
  19. Has to be rat-l-traps. I've only used them one trip this year.
  20. I've had the hooks tangle a couple of times, but its nothing like a Mann's 1- minus.
  21. 5/8 oz. Black Jitterbug Chrome/Blue back Rat-L-Trap 3/8 black/blue jig Senko or a knock off 6" or larger purple plastic worm
  22. I know how your feeling. This past summer there were some kids going around my neighborhood that vandalized 5 or 6 houses. I got a 20 pound rock through my living room window, but the insurance is taking care of it. The little $%^& weren't stealing anything just destroying property. They were hitting about one house a week, then they just stopped. The cops think they got bored and moved on to something else.
  23. Right click on the darkened icon and hit Properties. Look under the shortcut tab. You should see something called target with a file location. That's the program the icon is tied to. Go to the file location and see if the program is still there. If its not you may need to do a search for it. After you find it just make a new shortcut and drag it to your desktop.
