  1. I've been when the temp was in the mid 30's with no wind and caught bass and I have been when the temp was 50 with gusty winds and about frozen my behind off. I will not go when the air temp is in the 20's.
  2. I must have been having a blast . I remember reading about it after the fact and watching the tape of it on TV, but I don't remember the landing at all.
  3. Don't be afraid to go to the ER. About 10 years ago I got a worm hook in me deep and debated about whether to remove it myself since it wasn't bleeding that bad. I ended up going to the ER and the Dr. said that they would have to be careful in taking it out because it was very close to the artery.
  4. I'll either be weightless or have a 1/8 ounce weight on the line. The only time I will put on a larger weight will be if the wind picks up or I start fishing deep water.
  5. I've found that after you think that you're all the way through, you're usually not. I've had to raise the bait and drop it down 2 or 3 times to punch all of the way through.
  6. I've had very little luck with cranks and topwaters this year. Its gotten to the point when I head out I leave them at home and just use jigs and plastics.
  7. Those pics are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Went out Saturday for about 7 hours to a small lake that gets fished a lot. Dad boated 9, and I boated 8, with the largest being about 1-1/2 pounds. The bummer of the day came when I cast a 1/8 ounce jig up on a gravel covered hump with grass growing all around it. One hit the jig and headed off the hump back into the deep water. I turned him, got him to the boat and went to get him out of the water when he shook his head and got off. Dad said that it was at least 4 or 4.5 pounds. We still had a good time and I know where I'm going this Saturday.
  9. Plastic worm or a jig-n-pig.
  10. Nearest fishing hole is about 10 min away from me. Nearest fishing hole that I like to fish is around 40 minutes away. Lake of Ozarks and Truman are both between 2 and 2-1/2 hours away depending on traffic.
  11. Around here 2+ is avg. size, 3+ is above avg. and anything 5+ is a hawg!
  12. +1 and black on black buzzbaits +2 +3 Swimming a black jig w/ a big black trailer also works good.
  13. They work better than flukes in some of the ponds that I fish in.
  14. I voted for Rat-L-Trap but I also like the Cordell Super Spots.
  15. Ruthless People. One of the funniest I've ever seen.
  16. All of my lipless baits are 1/2 ounce so they all go into one box. Frogs, poppers, and wakers go into the topwater box. Cranks are split up into shallow, med, and deep diving.
  17. I like the Zoom Salty chunks and Super Chunks. I also plastics that have gotten too beat up to use on a t-rig or c-rig.
  18. What WRB and Dock Master said. I like to throw the bait across it, and not parallel. This way you can work both sides of the road.
  19. Usually four. Jig Weightless Senko or Knock-off T-rigged plastic One for crankbait/spinnerbait
  20. It use to be plastic worms. This year I'm leaning toward a baby brush hog.
  21. This past spring has been the worst in a long long time. My largest so far is a 2-14 LM that I got a couple of weeks ago.
  22. Its fishing season!!!
  23. That's the best one I've heard all week ;D.
  24. Unless I'm night fishing I can't stay up late anymore. Last time I tried to stay up all night at home I made it to about 2 or 2:30 AM. I dozed off in the computer chair and fell out of it.
