Bit by something other than a fish?
Turtles while cat fishing and my left hand between my third and fourth finger while bass fishing.
-

Bank Fishing Tackle Box?
I fish 75% of the time from the bank. I like to use soft t-rigged plastics that I can pull through the brush without hanging up. Since I can't go to the fish, I like heavy tackle that I can will bring that bass to me. I also will use 1/4 to 1/8 ouce jigs, topwaters, and shallow running crankbaits.

A typical saturday
I would rather catch one hawg. If I found $100, I would just feed the baitmonkey.
-
Do you have any fishing quirks?
I have no quirks. I think I am normal. Of course my wife may say otherwise...
-
Backing ?
I fill up the spool about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way depending on the size of the spool. After the backing is on I'll put some tape around it.

Best quickest knot(s)?
palomar or an improved clinch knot.
-
When is it time to get the boat out?
When the ice is off and it doesn't freeze rain.
-
When did you last catch a fish?
11/11/07 on a 3/8 blue/black jig.

How many ML, M, MH trigger rods do you think is good?
You NEED enough rigs to be prepared for any situation that may come up...That's what I tell my wife ;D

BPS Excel Mono
Last time I used it was about four years ago. Its not to bad if you respool about once a month, or more depending on how much you use it.

The official first bass of 08'
Congrats on the first of 08!! I'm still working on my first one for the year.

First Bait after winter thaw?
Which winter thaw? The lakes around here have frozen and thawed 2 or 3 times already :-?. We've been having pretty good luck with the mid size Mann's 1-minus.

How thick do you like your jig skirt?
Around 60 or so strands. I also like to have some strands longer than others.

RESULTS ... Predict Your '07 Hawg
I was hoping to break the 5 pound mark, and I did it over Memorial day weekend with a chunky LM that came in at 5-4.

Asking your wife's permission...
My wife has stuff that she takes care of around the house and I have mine. As long as my responsibilities around the house are taken care of, my wife doesn't have a problem with me heading out on the weekend.

Busch Wildlife (St. Louis)
33 is muddy from the spring to fall. I don't know about this time of year. I hate the cold wind blowing across it.
-
Anyone else...
I'm going to try ultra light baits until the weather warms up some. After that I'll use the same stuff.
-
Things you just cannot get rid of...
That cold ache from water pouring into your waders from a hole you didn't know was there.

Question about my truck.
I wouldn't drive it until it gets checked. My wife's water pump went out in the 97 cougar and was probably the cause of the head gasket blowing.
-
You know what grinds my grears
How about when you and another car pull up to a four way stop at the same time and the other driver pulls out because they don't know the right of way.
-
Busch Wildlife (St. Louis)
I'd stick with 33. Lake 34 is over populated with dinks.

Predict Your '08 Hawg (and Beyond)
In 08: To at least match my PB that I got last year Lifetime: To get a boat .

Busch Wildlife 1-6
Early last spring it was around 22' deep. By the looks of it now I'd say maybe 15 to 18 feet deep.
-
Busch Wildlife (St. Louis)
In 35 the kill was caused by hot weather and the lake being to shallow. On lake 33 the water around the dam is about 20' deep, but the back 3/4 of the lake is only about 6 to 8 feet deep. Lake 33 is also loaded with small crappie and huge carp.
